If you can access the blade on this fan carefully touch the rotating blade and see if it is difficult to stop the blades,if it stops relatively easy then the motor is going bad

SOURCE: Hotpiont side/side HSS251FMB not cooling

Compressor might be working but you may have lost some freon. Continued operation with low freon can lead to other problems. This may require a service call since recharging freon can only be done by a service professional.

SOURCE: hotpoint csx22d side by side has leak under

This leak , is coming from the defrost drain , inside the freezer section , at the back . The defrost drain is clogged with ice . Remove the bottom freezer crisper , and use a hairdryer to defrost the ice . You will see a drain hole where the defrost water is supposed to drain thru . Hot water helps defrost this hole . Once defrosted , use a small hose inserted into the drain hole , to blow thru , to remove built up debris , inside the unseen drain line .

Testimonial: "thanks for help.....looked for drain for short time will go back & try again.....no drain pan throwing me off.....thanks again"

My Hotpoint makes a high pitched humming noise all the time.

Hi,

This noise is most likely coming from the evaporator fan motor that is located behind the panel just below the ice maker. There is an air duct that the fan blows through to cool the ice maker that is why the sound is heard in the ice maker area more.

The noise does not hurt anything but the motor can be replaced if it gets too annoying, it is a fairly common complaint. The part number for the motor is WR60X10185 and runs about $60.00. It is a bit challenging to get to but can be done with a bit of patience by removing everything in the freezer and taking the back panel off the inside of the freezer.

I have a side by side refrigerator/freezer & the top sections of both will not get cold or freeze ice. However, the bottom (about 1/3) is getting cold. Any advice?

sounds like either a defrost problem or freezer fan motor problem. open freezer door, hold in light switch and listen for sound of fan motor. if fan is ok. check for frost build up on back wall of freezer. post what you find out.

HSS25IFMDWW- freezer frosting up but working

sounds like the defrost thermostat or you may have a crack in the water line causing the freezing.
