I use this skillet about every other day, use a plastic spatula to turn food, wash it in the sink with a sponge & use Dawn. Many areas of the Teflon have disappeared and I'm beginning to get leary of continued use because of this situation. Any suggestions? This skillet was bought approximately 3 months ago.
I'd contact the manufacturer and see if they'll send you a replacement. That's not normal.
Thanks, I just emailed them. Bet no replacement is in my fuuture though.
You might try The Consumerist's tips for writing to companies; sometimes pointing out just how soon something failed, especially if you've been a loyal customer in the past, is enough to persuade them to work a little to keep your business. That, and faulty Teflon can lead to toxic off-gassing, so I'd think they'd make the effort if only for safety reasons. Make sure to include the serial number from your product, just in case they got a bad batch of Teflon, so they can fix the problem in manufacturing. When you give them the information they need to solve THEIR problem, companies are often quicker to solve YOURS.
