Question about Nextar X3B GPS Navigation System
My problem is this. My Computer screen system stated I needed to put the DVD/CD into the system for updates. My problem is I don't have the DVD/CD!! The salesman took my DVD/CD when he was loading the system and did not put it back in it's case. Now the problem with that is the dealership has closed there doors (Mike Denney Chevrolet Guthrie,Oklahoma). I would like a DVD/CD mailed to me at 8650 W. Simmons Rd. Edmond,OK. 73025 is my address. The VIN# for the vehicle is 3GNFK12368G314459. I talked with a customer service person and they stated I would have to purchase a new one for approx. $199.00. I feel that is very unreasonable due to the large amount of money that was spent on this vehicle (sticker price $52,000.00), this is the 2nd brand new Avalanche I've purchased in the last 5 or 6 years. And I'm assuming the GPS system needs this CD to perform hopefully better than what it is now since my old hand-held unit picked up roads and directions alot better than the system in my truck now. The GPS now has given me wrong directions 3 or 4 times and I don't even use it that much since I don't travel out of my area that I'm familliar with. Sorry I cannot find the exact brand of navigation system in any of my books. I would like this resolved promptly.

Check the Nextar website. They did recenlty release a 2009 map update, but if your GPS is not listed as compatible, it's not going to work.

these are just the common errors in the programmed maps stored inside the unit, I have had a GPS for years and have had this happen many times to my suregrin, sent down dirt roads, routed around in circles and so on.
