The client machine can't find a server with either an exact NIC address match or a base match on the NIC address pattern. This could be caused by a faulty or improperly connected network cable or hub, a NIC address setting error, or incompatible NIC hardware. For example, a user could not boot a client machine with a Kingston NIC from an IBM 325 server. The user found that changing the Kingston NIC to a 3COM solved the problem. Changing the IBM 325 server to a different IBM model also solved the problem.
