Question about MP3 & Digital Media Players

1 Answer

Backlight off and can't get it on again.

Here's what it is,
I was just scrolling around on the settings menu and I turned the backlight off. Now, I can't get it back on again. I tried the apple manual solution by pressing any button to turn it back on but that doesn't work. What do I do?

Either clean the screen or navigate the iPod by heart. Try pressing any button and it should come on

I have a apple ipod A1199 my little brother got a hold of it now its in some forien language that i cant read how do i get the menue to read american again?

No problem, you'll just need to do a full reset to restore the language to English.

1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)

2. Press and hold the Menu and Center (Select) buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

Tip: If you are having difficulty resetting your iPod, set it on a flat surface. Make sure the finger pressing the Select button is not touching any part of the click wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Menu button toward the outside of the click wheel, and not near the center.

If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.

C150 as not working what's solution?

1

Check the orange "Hold" switch on the left side of the Sansa C150, if you cannot turn on the MP3 player or if none of the buttons is working. When the "Hold" switch is up, the buttons are disabled. Slide the "Hold" switch down to activate the buttons again.
2

Press and hold the "Power" button until the LCD screen lights up when turning on the MP3 player. Pressing the button quickly does not turn on the device. The "Power" button is located on the front of the device, under all the other control buttons.
3

Replace the AAA battery, if you cannot power on your MP3 player. To replace the battery, remove the battery cover from the back of the device by pressing in on its tab and pulling it off. Remove the old battery, insert the new battery and replace the cover. One AAA battery provides approximately 15 hours of power for your Sansa C150.
4

Change the backlight settings to conserve battery life. This is useful if you find the battery loses power quickly during normal use of your Sansa C150. To change the backlight settings, choose "Settings" to bring up the "Settings" menu. Select "Display," "Backlight" and then a shorter backlight time. The backlight will shut off after a period of inactivity that matches your backlight setting.
5

Review your music purchases to understand what rights you've purchased to the content, if you are unable to play a track back on your Sansa C150. When you purchase music, it comes with certain rules for how you can store and play it. You may not have paid for the right to transfer the song to a portable media player.
6

Reset the Sansa C150 if it acts erratically or if you have other problems. To reset the device, open the "Settings" menu and choose "Reset All." Choose "Save" to finish restoring the MP3 player to its factory default settings. If you decide not to reset the device during this process, select "Cancel" instead of "Save."

My itouch menu button doesn't work at all...

There is a way that Apple could sorting the " Menu button not working problem out" or any Button out,but they wont do it,because they want you to go out and buy a new one,the solution is simple,if any of your buttons fail to work, except the center select button, you can substitute a command to activate on or off in the menu section like "Back" "Play" "next song etc....so instead of clicking play/pause or menu, you can scroll to a command that says the command and it will do as you want it to do,that is only if the button for the command is not working, but you could use the software to create the same affect,i hate that Apple never thought of this idea.......its a simple one if any buttons fail.

To turn the Backlight on, move to the Main menu, select Backlight, and click the Select button. The Backlight will come on and your iPod's world will be a lot brighter.
After the current backlight time passes, the Backlight will turn off automatically.

iPod has backlighting, so you can see the display in low light.

You can configure iPod so the backlight turns on for a set amount of time when you press a button or move the scroll wheel.
To access the backlight settings:
  1. Select Settings > Backlight Timer.
  2. Select a setting from the menu. Options include having the backlight timer:
    • Off
    • Turn off after a period of time between 2 and 20 seconds
    • Always on
A backlight on/off switch can be added to the Main menu by selecting:
Settings > Main Menu > Backlight

IPod Backlight Broken

I thought my ipod was broken but i did something to make it brighter:
Go to settings and scroll to brightness (i guess it should be right under backlight timer in the menu)
There you will need to scroll clockwise and you will see your screen get brighter.
Anyway I have a ipod video I'm not sure if it's the same as the other ipod series.

To reset iPod, iPod (scroll wheel), iPod (touch wheel), and iPod (dock connector)ipodg1-2.gif ipodg3.gif
  1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  2. Press and hold the Play/Pause and Menu buttons simultaneously until the Apple/iPod logo appears, about 6 to 8 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above steps did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep.
If you are still unable to reset your iPod, use only one finger from one hand to press the Center (Select) button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Menu button.
When you reset iPod all your music and files are saved, but some customized settings may be lost. Date and time is preserved (unless the iPod reset itself because it had no power and then was reconnected to power). Other customized settings, such as Bookmarks, On-The-Go Playlists, Shuffle, Backlight timer, and so forth are preserved from the last time the hard drive turned on.
