Hopefully this site will help you out. Not sure though if it is your driver or if somebody has your computer set so you can only send those e-mails on purpose. But like i said i hope this helps, and you might want to try different network components and see if it just a bad connection.

Assuming that your Operating System is Windows XP I have given you the details to download the drivers. Visit the link: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/MIGR-53178.html
Scroll down to Networking: Ethernet section

2004 Emachine- when desktop comes up on lower right there's a flashing icon when clicked on says "Network Connections", Local Area Connection, Network Cable Unplugged, Intel{R} PRO/100 VE...

If the local area connection icon specifies as network cable unplugged, then the computer has not sensed the connection between the computer to the cable modem / DSL modem, please reseat the cable behind the cable / dsl modem to the computer. If the icon still shows unplugged, then change the network cable between the two.

If the issue still persists, please revert with more details lik the kind of internet connection used and the reason for reinstalling.

I have one of these. But my network adapter is a realtek. The laptop I have is running an AMD.It sounds like you have eather the wrong drivers,or the most simple problem that happened to me.Try another Ethernet cable. Most of the time that is the problem.

Dell 4700 Computer Integrated NIC Problem

Check for the pins inside the integrated NIC to check if the pins are bent / disfigured. Does not look like the additional card is making any different, looks more like a moving NIC cable is makin the difference.

Lemme know if this helped!

if they are working then you may jump into getting the adapters' drivers updated.

you may also try to disable them restart the computer, then re-enable them. there other work-arounds that you can try, if you want to go further on this in real-time, lemme have your e-mail address and i will try to communicate with you through instant messenger.

2 ethernet cards can't work together

If in your network you are connecting computers directly to a PC thru multiple nics and not a router or hub leaving one as server and the others as clients and that server is NT 4,0

NT 4,0 can not auto configure the cat5 cable and would need at least 1 cable to be a cross-over and not a patch.
