Question about Ubiquio 501 Smartphone

No SIM message

A couple months ago I purchased an UBIQUIO 501 for use as a smartphone. I transferred the SIM (T-Mobile) from my prior phone, no problem, worked fine until yesterday when I removed the card to check something. When I reinserted it I got a 'No SIM' message. After re-trying another 5 or 6 times it's the same. No idea why it won't work now.

The sim compartment that holds the SIM seems to be loose..Try to place the SIM firmly inside that so that it touches the copper part of the mobile

Hi there
firstly put the sim back into the old phone to see if there is a problem with the sim card, if there isn't get a pencil eraser and clean the contacts on the back of the sim (power your smart phone off and take out the battery while you clean the sim) put back in phone and see if that works. If not perform a factory reset on the phone

kind regards

Try to insert another sim and see if its the same problem. if does then your phone has the problem. try to clean the sim slot with brush or any other soft clothe and also clean the sim card which is your about to insert. you will notice the problem by changing the sim card and other phone or vice versa.

thank you for using fixya

you can buy a sim card on some mobile stores and its so cheap or borrow a sim from your friend. this will help you figure out what problem is.

A request for a PUK code ("Personal Unlocking Key") will appear on your phone if your SIM card PIN code is entered 3 consecutive times incorrectly.

Your SIM card will then become "PUKed" or Blocked. This is a security measure to protect your service.

You need to call the Customer Service department of your cell phone provider and they will give you the PUK code which will unblock your SIM card.

I bought a bb storm 9550 off ebay which has vodafone on it i tried to get it unloked for t-mobile but it may be blocked - what can i do

Hello,

It looks like the telephone is SIM locked.

If you go to Options > Advanced Options > SIM Card and type MEPD.

This will bring up another screen. If the Network option shows "Disabled" then it is unlocked.

If its locked go back to the seller or buy an unlock code online.

Hope it helped.

I68 phone says invalid sim - never used to.....

Looks like you need to purchase a new sim. Invalid sim may mean it's damaged or its service is being cut off already (esp if you've not been using it for months). Try also to clean it and insert it again.
