Question about Dell E152FP 15" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Blue Lock in the middle of my Dell flat panel. It locks then unlocks then disapears only to return again. I think it has to do with the monitors control buttons.

I have a blue and white padlock keeps showing up in the middle of my screen. Blinks on and off for a while then disappears, then comes back. On and on, very irritating.

It sounds like the DELL Capslock indicator. It is a light blue square with a lock on it and a capitol A under the hasp. You may have a bad keyboard key. switch out keyboards and see what happens.
Good luck,
James.
If this was a help, PLEASE click on 4 thumbs up!!

When the icon is in the unlock position, hold down the Menu key (the far left button in the lower right hand corner) on your monitor. This should bring up the menu. From there, you can reset the factory settings.

Lock/unlock symbol appears in the middle of the screen

5-22-09 Same problem last month. I had the problem a year ago for a month, then it stopped, reappearing this last month. Last week, I finally called support...I was accidentally transferred to a Dell "internal" technical support department...happily a very diligent technician spent a bit of time with me for free...for same problem, even though he confirmed I was over a year past all warranties. He confirmed this was a monitor problem (not virus, malware, etc.). He also confirmed their standard "guidance"/solution for this monitor issue (if under warrantee) is to replace the monitor (i.e. not attempt to fix it). New monitor needed. But problem again gone for last 10 days. So, when fully irritated, buy new monitor.
