How to wire a intermatic timer T104 240 v to a 120v?

T104 is 240volt timer.
Timer has terminals A 1 2 3 4
T-104 clock motor must receive 240Volts to operate.
Clock motor wires are white-colored and can be seen connected to terminals 1 and 3.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-wire-T104-Intermatic-timer.html
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Back-of-WH40-2b.jpg

There are two work-arounds for using T104 for 120V.

1) Diagram 1 showing how to change wiring:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/T-104-control-120V-Load-500.jpg
Move 240V clock motor wires to terminal 1 and A.
Connect 240V Hot leads to terminals 1 and A. This will power the 240V clock motor
Hot wire going to 120V load connects to terminal 2. This wire will be turned on each time timer turns on, and 120Volts will power the 120V load.
To complete 120V circuit, neutral wire that comes from neutral busbar in breaker box connects to 120V load.

To control additional 120Volt circuit, run jumper wire from terminal 1 to terminal 3.
Connect Hot to second load to terminal 4.

2) Second method is to change T104 timer into T103 timer:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/T-104-control-120V-Load-2-5.jpg
Replace T104 240V clock with identical 120V clock motor from Grainger
http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/INTERMATIC-Time-Clock-Motor-1PNK1?Pid=search
Neutral wires connect to terminal A.
Hot wire from Breaker connects to terminal 1
Hot going to Load connects to terminal 2

To control additional 120Volt circuit, run jumper wire from terminal 1 to terminal 3.
Connect Hot to second load to terminal 4.

My switch has only a white wire (hot) and a black wire (neutral). Witch one dose the red wire connect to?

I answer questions for free
I specialize in timers and electrical devices
If you have a different timer than the one shown below, add a comment with your timer model and I will help.
Different timers use the red wire differently.

You posted under Intermatic ST01C.
If the ST01C is your timer, then the red wire is capped off.
The black-timer wire connects to black wire.
The blue-timer wire connects to white wire.

IF the timer does not work after wiring, then try reversing the blue and black wires.

The following photo shows the EJ500 timer which is wired exactly like the ST01C
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/EJ500-wiring-full.jpg

The following link shows several wiring diagrams for the ST01C and EJ500 timers

I replaced the heating elements(2) and switiches(2) on my Rudd electric hot water heater. Model PES 40-2. The switghes came with several wiring diagrams.(universal) Can I get a diagram specific to my...

Residential water heaters USUALLY follow same diagram unless water heater is wired for other purpose. Multiple diagrams on instructions show available options. Take photo of wiring before removing wires on any electrical device.
Upper element.
Black wire from top of heater connects to #1 top left screw.
Red wire from top connects to #3 top right screw.
Blue wire from upper element connects to #4 middle screw on right side
Red wire from lower element connects to #4 middle screw on right side
Yellow wire from upper element connects to #2 lower left screw
Black wire from lower thermostat connects to #4 lower right screw
Upper element: Yellow and Blue wires connect to either screw
Lower element: Red wire from top connects to either screw
Lower thermostat: Black wire from top connects to top screw
Short wire between lower thermostat and lower element
