If it is burning audio and video format it mean the burning is all right, u must choose some other application for burn data cd, like nero burning rom or alcohol etc.

Hi,

Here's the newest driver for your burner. Go to Control Panel, then Device Manager, then click on the + symbol next to disk drives, and double click on the TEAC device. Click the Driver tab and press Update Driver, then choose the 'Let me find the driver' option, and navigate to the folder where you unzipped the file to. Double click and Install. Reboot.

For burning, I would recommend Nero, Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn.

Good luck and Season's Greetings!

Problem is that my DVD combo TEAC-DW-224E-A reads cds but not DVD kindly help

Download VLC (google it) for free, see if that plays the dvd. Most likely your player has an issue, VLC plays ANYTHING (pretty much!) without issue.

If that doesnt work then you'll have a problem with the actual drive.

Teac 32 inch LCD dvd combo, dvd is coming up with message "no signal" any ideas?

Usually means just that.
The input source you have switched to has no signal.
Does it have built in freeview? just plugging an ariel off the roof no longer works without a digital receiver.

Need to replace the dvd drive in my compaq presario 2500. all the screws are loose, but it still won't open. any ideas?

Have you disconnected both the POWER and the DATA cables between the motherboard and the DVD drive?

Is there any "slider" that "locks/unlocks" the drive into its "home" position?

Toshiba dvd/cd rom when inserted cds it just blinks and the icon don't show its loaded

Have you tried to reseat the drive itself, when its off you should be able to take out the drive and put it back in, see if that helps.

Cdrom

Try this but be careful to find the exact key as not to do damage!

Start Registry Editor (Start, Run and type in regedit then click)

Find "UpperFilters" and "LowerFilters" (and "UpperFilters.bak" "LowerFilters.bak", if they exist) value under the following key in the registry, and delete it:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

Quit Registry Editor.

Reboot.

NOTE: You might need to reinstall any CD recording apps you have, if they start to not work completely, after doing this.
