Aspire 5050 network adaptor not found ??

Hi, i recently had to re-format my whole laptop due to many viruses.. anyway, i used to have windows xp professionnal sp2, and thats what i put in once again. I used to have no problem at all connecting to any wireless network. But since i re-formated, i have no wireless client, and when i installed Lucilink 22 Client, it tells me there cant be any network adapter found. So i know i have a built in wireless card or whatever.. but i need someone to tell me everything i need, drivers, etc.. for my laptop to be able to detect my router... do i need to install my router cd installation and all ?? i dont think so... i have a desktop computer already working very well with my router... and i remember only having to type in my WAP adress and password and everything connecting on its own.... IM LOST and know nothing about computers... as u can see... PLEASE HELP !!! =(

Hi Pattxxx,

Download this driver and install it..

https://www.synapsenow.com/synapse/data/7117/documents/AS35-Wireless%20Lan%20b+g%20(Broadcom).zip

Most Acer notebooks from that range and time were either install with Intel or Broadcom wireless adaptor drivers. That zip file contains the Broadcom Wireless LAN 802.11b+g v3.100.46.0
driver.

It should work for you. :)
Good luck!

Ok, the problem is that your wireless adapter of your notebook has not been installed yet. locate the cd that comes with your notebook and install the wireless adapter.

Hi ,once my laptop acer aspire 5050 fell down, from then the cd drive is not detecting in my computer and its not working too.i have even formatted windows xp still its not working.what can i do to make it...

Seems that the connection between the CD drive & the laptop's motherboard was loosened or broken due to the fall.
Check & make sure that the CD drive is fit tight in place. You might even want to uninstall it from the laptop, check its connection with the motherboard & re-install it again.

PXE-E61:Media Test Failure

you got that error message because your harddrive isnot detected so it try to boot from network and you don't have OS in the network.

Most of the time is your hdd is dead. In some cases the motherboard is dead.

You can replace your hdd.
for OS (vista vs XP), if you have enough rams and high cpu, you should install vista, but for me, I prefer XP.
for the price, you should call microsoft seller.

Wrong widows for this coputer

Hi, You of course have the prerogative of shifting your Windows to basic XP SP2 since the standard pre-installwed Windows in an Acer Aspire 5050-3242 is Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition. But since it is brand new and I assume recently purchase, why not simply return it for replacement of another unit, model or brand. If you feel that something is not right, then probably for a few dollars more you can get another brand/model more to your liking (test before leaving WalMart). Good luck and kind regards.
