Check the main fuse in the power cable. Should be within 1 ft of battery.
If that is in tact, use a voltmeter and verify 12V at the power terminal on the amplifier, as well as the remote turn on after you have turned the key on.
Also check ground continuity.

Kenwood kac 628 red light comes on and no audio output

The red light you describe on your amp, is the protection mode warning light. An amp goes into protect for many reasons. Here's a checklist.

1st check the fuse (s) on your amp and make sure they are not blown.

2nd check the inline fuse next to your car battery (if you have an inline fuse)

3rd, disconnect the speaker wires with amp on, does the light go off?

4th check your ground, this may be ok if you have tried another amp with the same wires.

5th.if none of these turns the protect mode off, it may be an internal fault.

you may have blown transistors and it is a tricky job to repair and costly.

Have Power going to the amp. Amp does not turn on. Do i need a remote? Bought vehicle with amp in it. LXA 600 Power light does not turn on.

you need to make sure you have 5 things.

1. power connection to the battery/amp
2. make sure you have a remote line radio/amp
3. make sure you have rca's radio/amp
4. make sure you have a ground amp/car frame ( scratch paint away for good contact)
5. make sure the speakers are connected to the radio.

if all is ok then check the inline fuse from the hot wire from the battery is not blown and the fuse on the amp is not blown.if so replace them. with the proper amp fuse.

sounds like you may have blown your sub...sheck the spyder inside of it and see if it is stiff..if the speaker doesnt seem too responsive when you press on it, its probably blown...

Amplifier power light will not turn on. subwoofers will not work.

Recheck the fuse on the amp, if the fuse is good, try replacing it anyway, if that doesn't work your amp has blown an internal component, (most likely an output transistor). it is probably cheaper to replace the amp than repair it.

No power

Disconnect the sub or speakers and turn on the amp, see what happens. If the amp turn on without the protection light, then your sub is blown. Also check to make sure ALL your fuses are good including the one under the hood. If you have a meter, test the fuse for continuity. The problem can also be a bad ground.

Red LED "Protection Light is on" What is the problem

The red light means the amp is in protection mode. A few things can cause protection mode..... First disconnect the subs completely from the amp, and turn it on, if it powers up you have blown subs. Also try checking the main power wire at the battery...sometimes the current your meter is seeing is backfeeding from the remote wire, so your main power line could be blown at the fuse under the hood. hope this helps

Red light on Amplifier

if your amplifier has the internal Kicker card dealie "little computer card on the side that you can change out crossover settings and such," Turn off the vehicle, remove this device and make sure the contacts on the card are clean and free from black soot (showing a spark). clean the contacts with a pencil eraser or something hard but soft... and put the little card back in place, start the car again and see if that helps, I used to lose one speaker every once in a while with the same amp. I ended up replacing the module with a different one from my dealer and it worked fine (still does and it's been in my car 6 years). Check that little module. if this doesnt work, while the car is running and the music is "playing" wiggle the card and see if it works sometimes and not others. Likely is the little module.

this problem sound like you have too low of power going to your amp, test your battery and make sure its putting out enough power for at least the mininum amount of power that your amp requires, you can find that information in your manual or sometimes they post it on the amp itself. i hope this info helps
