For a few weeks, I could not turn off my monitor. Everything else worked just fine so we kept the monitor on. Power went out today and now I cannot turn monitor back on. How can I fix the power button?

You must need to open the rear cover to access the part, then if you know how to test a tact switch using an analog tester just to know if it is worn out or no contact.

SOURCE: Power Button Light Flickers, wont' turn on

Hello,

Your monitor has a common problem, the power supply board is blown. Because of the heat trapped inside the monitor parts called capacitors have been damaged. We have a repair guide on our web site for the Samsung 214t series and your 204 is very similar and they use the same parts to repair them. Check out our site at: www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

SOURCE: Monitor blinking on and off. I had this problem

Please read below if you decide to DIY:
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

My Acer TCO03- power button is just blinking but no picture display

Blow hot air into the back with a hair dryer before trying to start it.

(not kidding)

if that works, one of the capacitors on the power board went bad.

even if that does NOT work, one of the capacitors on the power board went bad.

It is ALWAYS one of the capacitors on the power supply gone bad.

Being unplugged for a few weeks - as you stated - drained it of "juice", and it just cr*pped out. It was going to fail soon, in any event.

Fixing it can cost you less than a dollar, if you Google for information.

Best of luck!

Screen went black

Swap monitor connections to determine if one of the monitors is not working.
If one is not working you probably have an internal problem. If power led responds to the off-on button but no picture is seen, the inverter has likely blown a fuse. Replace the fuse and resolder the leads on all 6 inverter transformers or the fuse might blow again.

Buttons no longer work--power and OSD menu buttons don't work

I had the same problem. In frustration after trying everything else as I couldn't shut the monitor off, I shut the computer down, unplugged the power to all, and left it until this morning (12 hours). Now it works, so it must reset itself. I am waiting for feedback from their support as well but imagine they will tell me the same, good luck.

I have the same problem. The only way to get the TV to come on is to unplug it, but once you get it back on it turns itself off again in a few minutes.
