LOL if you just paid good honest hard earned cash for it i would certainly take it back. You might get a few freebies in the process. If you never broke it, Dont try and fix it because you will be held responsible for any damage they deem fit to blame you for.

Had a similar problem mate. I solved it by connecting the tv to the PT460 system with a scart lead. You then have to have the AV channel selected on the PT460 system to listen to the tv. You will always have to have the AV channel on the PT460 selected to listen to any sound transmitted through the tv - be it playstation/xbox or any other device that you may connect in the future with HDMI leads or otherwise. Hope this helps

I am afraid the answer is no - this particular Panasonic will only play full surround when watching DVDs. It does not have the right inputs to grab more than stereo sound from your computer.

the difference is the "same speaker connections"
the front and rear will connect the same but the subwoofer is amplified by the HT75 , and the HE75 does not have an internal amp for the subwoofer speaker , only a "pre output"(has to be amplified)

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 05, 2016 | Panasonic Audio Players & Recorders
"Use the speakers only with the recommended system. Failure to do so may lead to damage to the amplifier and/or the speakers, and may result in the risk of fire. Consult a qualified service person if damage has occurred or if you experience a sudden change in performance."
I would read that to also mean 'no other speakers to be used with this electronics'. Since they don't publish the specs of either half I'd be very wary of mixing parts.
If you feel compelled to keep the unit your best bet is to find the original speakers (say, eBay).
