Envy charge port keeps breaking

I have been through three envy's and I am constantly replacing it due to the charging port breaking. is there something I am doing wrong? Or how can i fix it. Is anyone else having this issue?

it doesn't charge if i don't push the charger towards the back and the charger port is really loose.

  • knuble22 Jan 08, 2009

I got a new enV and had to send it back because it would not charge. I just got my new one and it charged fine, and now it won't....what is the deal?

  • Anonymous Jan 08, 2009

Same problem, the port is loose and I cant get it to charge unless i literally sit there and hold it down. This only works partly too.

  • Anonymous Jan 13, 2009

I have the same problem, the charging port is real loose. I tried to make them replace the phone but they wouldnt because its "not a known issue" with the phone...i have seen all over the web people with the same problem...maybe i should print them all out and tell them to open their eyes...it sucks...now my phone can only text, i cant hear anything nor can the people i attempt to call. I'm on my 2nd Envy now and it will be my last one...JUNK!!!

I have been through 3 envys and about to go to #4 just because they have all broken within the 90 day warranty. The charging port gets loose and you cant charge anymore. The phone is garbage.

girlfriend has same problem and is on 4th env going onto her 5th one. we just have to pay for another phone or get a free one with the consequence of adding 2 more years to our contract. this sucks!

I have two phones and they are doing the exact thing. One of the phone has been replaced 3 times. Is there a recall on these phones that no one knows about. Share your thoughts

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2009

My phone refuses to charge due to the port breaking.

You'd think that in this day and age, this shouldn't be an issue.

  • Anonymous Mar 31, 2009

i would put heavy stuff on it to charge. ppl say u can just go in to get a new one but idk. i hope.. it would also keep turning off randomly which sucked

Try this one open your verizon phone.remove the shield can.. the one that covers all the components. See the usb port?solder both side of the usb connector to the ground.. that will make the connector stable and prevents from port from breaking

I fixed mine. I took my phone apart and looked at the wires coming out of the back of the charger port and the last wire on the right was broken, seperated right at the bend and was angled to the right a lil bit. so i used a needle and pushed it into place and a lil inward to make sure it stays. I plugged in the charger and it worked.

I guess if you have soldering skills you can make it a lil more permanant but its only temporary for me till i get a new phone.

Nobody realy said how to fix anything.none of this helped me. I don't think responding with"yeah that happend to me 3 times and the way I fixed it was to replace my phone each time" is a good solution.

I switched to the EnV2 now.. but when I had the EnV, I had to get a couple of phones replaced for the same reason. People suggest not pulling the phone towards you with the chord or anything of that sort. However, even if you don't do that, I've found that it still screws up. I don't know what to tell you.. other than the fact that the EnV chargers seem to somewhat ****! ha

This happened to me with my voyager last year and i got my sisters replacement enV after i lost my voyager. they both had charging port issues.
what i found to work is: when you put in the charger, move it around and HOLD it until it starts charging.. then as the phone is in your hand charging, move it to an area where it could "hang off" a table at the edge or a filing cabinet of some sort. make sure the charger doesnt touch the table. i suggest you do this right before you go to bed, but MAKE SURE its actually charger. trust me, this works. it just takes time.

try it, it'll still charge :)
hope i helped!

I've replacedmy phone 3 times now.. charger port goes every time. It is a manufacturer defect.. take it to a verizon store and they will replace for free with a refurb. not the best solution, but at least you can charge it! just make sure you have a SD card to save all your stuff on before you get new phone!

My Sennheiser HDR 140 headphones charge whenever you hang them on the charger. The charger will "trickle" charge them to keep the batteries fully charged. If you find when you use it the batteries discharge quickly it's time to replace them.
My batteries are about 2 years old and I still get about 8-10 hrs of use before needing to recharge

How do you get an envy to charge when it stops charging

The charger port is very easily broken but you can trade it in for a new one or go to your local contract provider and get it easily replaced. Good Luck.

Charger port on LG shine broke.

It could be either your charger is broken or the charging port in the phone is- I would recommend taking it to a store and have them check it out for you.

Braun 5614 rechargeable cordless shaver light flickers

Your batteries are starting to degrade, but the good news is they're still holding a charge for a week, so you really don't need to rush to replace them at this point.

The flickering of the charged indicator is normal, as the shaver is still plugged in and the batteries are fully charged. The flickering is due to the batteries chemicals breaking down, and as such, the charge cycle keeps "topping" them off while it's still plugged in.

When you finally aren't able to get a decent amount of cordless operation and run times from your shaver, then you'll want to get them replaced, whether you decide to do that yourself or have it done by a professional service center, is up to you.

Here's a reference for your future use. www.electricshaver.com carries replacement (factory OEM) batteries for most brands of shavers and they also will provide the repair/replacement service for you, should you decide you don't want to do it yourself. You can also give them a call at 1-888-476-1785 and request a price quote, etc.

Anyway, your shaver is working fine and all you need to do is make sure you're not letting the shaver stay plugged in and charging constantly for more than a day, since any "extra" chargind isn't doing anything except keeping the batteries at a constant state of charge. Heat is a byproduct of charging and discharging any battery and as such, you want to allow for a cool down period before recharging them.

I tend to use my shaver until it is almost completely discharged before recharging it. By doing this, you can get the longest working life out of your batteries before you'll have to replace them.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!

LG ENV VX9900 Common Charge Port Problem

I am not sure why this happens besides the obvious poor construction of this phone. Good for you for not resting on this. In addition to all the steps you've taken, I'd contact the media. It is good place to start getting the word out. I'd contact local newspaper and the local news consumer affairs deparrtment. Nobody wants negative press and that might be enough to tip the scales. As you stated, you are not alone. In the end you will help other consumers and their children won't be stuck out there with no way to call their parents.
Good luck!

I have replaced 2 of these ports already, (we have 2 EnV2) not very hard, just very time consuming. Would take me FOREVER to post instructions, so if you want to know how, just e-mail me and I will send you detailed instructions! =D

Envy charge port keeps breaking

Although today's electrinics are nicer to look at than things were 5 years ago, they're also more fragile. You must treat things like egg shells if you want them to last. I've had the same cell phone for 4 years, mi wife has been through 7.
