Question about ASUS P4P800-E Deluxe Motherboard

1 Answer

Asus P4P800E Deluxe won't boot after upgrading RAM to 4GB

I have just installed 4 x 1gb of RAM having removed the original 512mb module. The machine now will not boot first (or sometimes second and third go) but does start eventually. It would appear it is happier to turn off and on again if war but if it has stood overnight it seems reluctant to get going.

It was purchased from Crucial.com and guaranteed as being compatible. I'll have a look though. Thanks

How to shut off usb drives from booting up in bios?

Go to bios options, and search for the option called "USB BOOT" Disable this option. and in the option "boot device priority" don't keep the first boot device as removable drive.

You can go to bios by pressing DELETE key at the point when switch on the PC

I am using this ASUS (asus M2N-MX nvidia mcp61p chipset

According to the manufacturer's web-site:

http://usa.asus.com/product.aspx?P_ID=0pKBwEIE8tqMT4j7

this motherboard has 4 x DIMM sockets,
supporting a maximum of 4 GB
of DDR2 800/667/533/ Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory

and supports Dual Channel memory architecture.

So, add one 512MB DDR2 533 Mhz RAM into one of the slots,
being sure to leave *ONE* *EMPTY* slot between the two sticks,
in order to enable the high-performance "dual-channel" option.

Try your computer -- it should feel faster.

If you still think that need more RAM, buy two 512MB (or two 1024MB) DDR2 533 Mhz RAM, putting the 2 sticks into the two empty slots.

Dead ASUS P4P800e-deluxe motherboard. The verbal POST says ''System failed CPU test''

Try cleaning up the motherboard, remove and clean the heatsink, CPU fan, RAM, etc. Might be caused by dust that have build up inside. Hope this helps.

I have an asus k8v-mx motherboard running only 512 mb of ram what type of ram would suit this mother board and could i fit a 1 x 2mb ram instead of 2 x 1mb?

Dear Sir,

*********** board is Asus old p4 Mother board. It supports maximum 1GB RAM of DDR 400(DDR1). According to your post your computer having only one 512 MB working RAM. If you want good purformance you can upgrade your computer by purchasing another 512MB DDR400 RAM and install it on another RAM slot.If your computer have only one working RAM slot, you can purchase 1GB DDR400 RAM & install it on older RAM place. I think it solves your problem.if you have any problem come back with more information. I will try to assist you more accurately.

good luck

OS not showing full RAM

Hi Shibbymusic, as with most Asus boards if not all! The MB
A8N-E does not show all of your 4GB memory. See this FAQ;
http://support.asus.com/faq/faq.aspx?SLanguage=en-us&model=A8N-E&os=17
Like you, I too have 4GB of memory.
Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe w/4GB memory only see's 3GB
The bios displays 3GB during boot up & so does windows XP 32bit.
You might want to think about upgrading to 64bit os.
Updating your bios should help as well.
(See A8N-E Bios version 1010); http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=A8N-E&SLanguage=en-us

Thank you for using fixya!

ASUS P4P800E-deluxe and dual channel memory

I'm not totally sure whether this would make that big of a difference or not, but the ASUS QVL for that motherboard does not list both those particular memory modules (Kingston 1GB) as being supported for double dual channels, only for single dual, or for single channels only and there is some note in the memory specifications and setup configuration about not reading all the memory due to some bridge or another, but still optimizing all the memory.

You might want to ask ASUS about it.
