Question about Acer 22" X223w LCD Monitor

Closing notebook - "Input not supported"`

I'm running the monitor as an external monitor for my Dell XPS Notebook running Vista Ultimate. I had issues running a game off Steam on the monitor (when I ran it, it said "Input not supported") so I tried updating some drivers to accomodate it but to no avail.
The real problem now is that whenever I close the lid of my notebook, the monitor displays "Input not supported." It's odd because I can use the monitor as the "main monitor" and without the notebook's lcd on.
Video card: Nvidia 8600M GT  (driver fully updated) Connection: SVGA cable (purchased separately because I had some flicker issues; which it cleared up)

I tried endless combinations of resolutions/refresh rates and it doesn't affect it. Thanks for trying, though.

When I travel between my user account (administrator and personnel accounts) sometimes the screen display disappears to show the message ''INPUT NOT SUPPORTED''.

I have to close the monitor and when I open it again it returns back to where I was!

I was told that this error concerns the time delay configuration, but I can't find how to correct the problem?

The Input not supported on your monitor normally means that the
refresh rate, or the resolution is set to high, CHK laptop settings

Hope this helps

Dell XPS M1530 won't recognize external monitor

The XPS1530 uses Vista so go to the control panel and choose the port that you have the external monitor connected to. I use an HDMI cable and need to choose both the audio and video separately in the control panel.

Dell xps laptop lcd screen black

Hi,

If you have an external monitor, try connecting the laptop to it, then toggle FN+F8 to project display from lalaptop to external monitor.

If the external monitor does not have a display aswell (totally blank) , then its a problem with the video card.

You can also run an LCD Bist test by turning off the system , then while the system is turned off press D + power , If you dont hear a beep but no display at all, then its an LCD problem.

Hope this helps

Thanks

Need drivers to run windows 98se on dell xps m140

Microsoft (and Dell) stopped supporting Windows 98 a few years ago -- it lasted for over TEN years! So, it is *NOT* likely that you will find drivers for any computer that was "designed for Windows 2000" or "designed for Windows XP" or "designed for Vista".

So, in general, it is a _bad_ idea to connect any computer running Windows 98 to the Internet -- Microsoft has issued many "security-fixes" in the 4 years after they stopped supporting Windows 98 and Windows ME.

No. You just basically need a VGA cable. Check your video settings.

Dell xps m140 screen goes blank

More like the back light has burned out on the LCD. Not an expensive fix, but time consuming. Almost easier to put in a new LCD (about $60us on Ebay), and is something you can do yourself.

Dell Inspirion 1521 Laptop Microphone Wont Work

checklist:
1. sound driver 2. microphone settings in volume control applet 3. tap test (tap the area around the microphone and see if eg Sound Recorder picks it up) 4. external microphone
If you get to step 4 before you get anything then your problem is one of missing or damaged microphone.
