Guys- I have had the same problem with my speaker not working and it comes down to the spacing inside the phone. Some people have resolved the problem by placing a small piece of paper or credit card between the phone or the battery back. I actually took the back cover off, the battery off, and then unscrewed the 6 tiny screws to take the back of the phone off. You'll then see two small pins that act as spacers to keep the phone back off of the speaker and you can gently bend them upward a bit more and this totally worked for me. I noticed after I was using a leather pouch to hold the phone, the only way to take it out was the pinch the phone on that area, and was thus "smooshing" these pins down and not giving the speaker the appropriate spacing. You'll void your warranty by doing so - but you should be able to fix the problem.

If its under 14 days take back to the shop you got it from, if over then take to Nokia service centre to be fixed under warranty, if you bought from a someone and dont know what the state of play is with the warranty take to your local unlocking shop and they will fix it, I charge £15 in my shop to fix such a fault.

Hello ,
Nokia has recently upgraded C5 firmware from 032.010 to 061.005. This
firmware will solve the low sound issue which you are facing. It also has lot
of new features like Emoticons are now enabled in smileys.
For updating to this latest firmware ..
Go to Menu>Settings>SW Update.
You
must have a NET package enabled since it downloads some files from
Nokia Server. Also make sure that you've enough battery power since it
takes some time.
Hope it helps
