-   I have this acer scanner for 95/98. Now I have changed the system working with xp. I have lost the soft wear cd. system is not recognising the scanner. What to do?-   joseph_1509
If this scanner was previously used on a Win95/8/ME system the likely hood of it working with and NTFS[3000/XP] system is slim. This is because the two system work in different ways and the scanner design for 95/8 does not recognise commands from a NTFS computer. Two thing to try Go to Mt computer/Help/Compatibility and read it up. then right click on the scanner software and click on properties/compatibility and set it to Win98- see what happens You could checkout ACER for driver updates also. But don't hold your breath

Jan The acer 620st does in fact support XP. several things you can do. You can go to the Acer website and download the drivers or a 2nd party website such as driverguide.com. this requires a free registration but has many great drivers. 2nd is go into properties on the scanner and in the windows XP block and choose "run in windows 98 or me"

The scanner works when logged on as administrator but for a normal user it doesn't seem to have access permissions to operate. Can I change access rights to allow all users to use it (as you can do for Nero Burning software). Scanner - Acer 620s (SCSI connected) OS - Win 2000 with service pack 4
