Board for the screen has a bad component or a bad solder joint. It will need to go to a repair shop. It may be cheaper to replace the tv.

We are experiencing a problem with the sound on a flat screen Philips tv (model 26PFL5522D/05). The sound is really fuzzy. The tv is connected to free sat but the problem is still there when playing Dvds....

You should try to eliminate any physical cable issues by swapping the audio stereo cable from DVD to TV with another set and see if it persists when playing DVD. If the sound is fixed then it might be some bad cables you have. If it still sounds fuzzy, and your TV is still under warranty, I would consider calling Philips for customer support.
Check your manual to see how you can reset the settings back to default if at all possible.

How do i get my tv back to home mode when it is in retail mode

Hello

[1] Press the green color button on your remote control to enter the Settings assistant menu.

[2] Select your Location with the cursor up/down and press the green color button.

If you choose Shop it will skip the Settings assistant. The TV parameters for Picture and Sound will then be set to predefined fixed settings.

Press the green color button again to proceed.
If you choose Home it will display the Settings assistant.
[3] Use the cursor left/right to each time select your preferred screen.

[4] Press the green color button to each time confirm your selection and to jump to the following screen.

The following items will be presented sequentially. In the header it is mentioned how many screens have been completed and how many
screens there are in total. The Settings assistant will step sequentially through the following settings: Picture and Sound.

[5] Press the green color button once to store all the settings and to return to the TV installation menu.

Note: When you skip or stop the Settings Assistant, then the Standard settings
Philips selected for you will be chosen.
[6] Press the red color button to finish the First time installation procedure and to display the first stored TV channel.
OK.

How to connect dvd player to tv

In order of best to worst quality, and depending on which connectors both have.
1. Hdmi ( Video and Sound in one cable )
2. RGB also known as color stream (Red,Blue, and Green RCA ) Sound Seperate ( Red and White RCA )
3. Composite ( Yellow RCA ) Sound Seperate ( Red and White RCA ) sometimes mono (single sound RCA)
4. COAX (cable) which most DVD players don't have.

All RCA connections on devices should be center color coded And grouped by connection Video 1 Video 2 ect.

"Display connected non-HDCP compliant" error

The HDMI cable was causing "Display connected non-HDCP compliant" error message to appear.
When I reconnected my DVD to TV using regular cable with 3 color connectors(i don't know what is the proper name for that cable) that error message no longer appears on my screen and I was able to watch my movie normally.

Audio from an external input only shows as mono on the TV information display.

If you are only getting sound through one speaker of the TV, check the scart connections are all in fully, and straight.

If you are getting sound through both speakers, then the sound is stereo. Stereo only shows when there is a NICAM stereo sound source, which is only through analogue terrestrial TV.
