SOURCE: reset Ink levels for canon mx310

You could just turn the ink refill monitor off.

Open the Windows Start menu, open the "Canon Utilities" folder, open the "My Printer" folder, open "My Printer", click on "Printer Status", go to the "Options" menu, unselect "Enable Status Monitor".

You should be able to tell when your ink is low, because the color will fade.

SOURCE: Reset ink level on CANON MP 140 PIXMA PRINTER

How to reset the Canon MP150 after a refill (Step 10 concerns refill; instructions below the steps):
Method1 (Safe Factory Method):
1) Disconnect the printer’s power outlet
2) Press and hold the power button while connecting the power outlet back.
3) While still holding down the power button, press the reset button twice.(red circle with a triangle)
4) Release the power button
The printer takes about 10 seconds to show the number 0.
5) Press + to change the value from 0 to 1.
6) When this value is 1, press colour button; this will light up two leds.
One is for plain paper and the other for photo paper. At this point is feed the printer with paper.
7) Press the power button twice and the printer will print a some stuff (if it doesn't print by itself, then press the "color" button once and the test sheet will print). Don’t worry much about the printed material. I got some stripped lines and some numbers. I believe that my colour cartridge is clogged which is why I got the green strips.
When you print this sheet the value in the display returns to zero.
8 ) Open the printer cover cover (not the scanner cover) and remove the cartridges. With the printer still open, disconnect the power outlet.
9) Close the lid and turn on the printer.
10) Refill cartridges and place them back in their nice little abode in the printer.

SOURCE: Canon MP560 ink level override

I have the same problem, BUT once the printer detects the cartridge is either empty OR replaced by a generic, it does NOT print at all. It freezes up and refuses to do anything (scan to USB, scan to PC, scan to PC application) until you put in a genuine Canon cartridge. My previous iP PIXMA 4000 the MP560 replaced worked fine with generic cartridge refills. Had for 5 years. But the MP560 is smarter. How can you override this problem? Thanks TDK

Reset ink level after top off of ink? canon MG3500 series

You cannot refill ink cartridges anymore. There is a computer chip in the ink cartridge and when it goes empty, it stays empty forever. The printer companies were losing money when you refilled the ink yourself, so they installed a computer chip to stop customers from doing it.

How to reset canon mp480 ink level

you don't have to reset the ink level counter if you dont want to it is not necessary for this model, i have one myself i do my own ink and i never rest the ink level. After changing the ink cartridges or refilling whatever you choose (i refill mine and get 9 refills from every cartridge!) when you close the lid and let it reset, it will tell you a new cartridge is in, or you may get an orangy or red error, just press and hold stop on the actual keypad on the printer under the lcd screen until error goes. Now you are good to print, but your printer levels are not usable that's all. Its a quick fix and you can just do it every time, no fuss.

Canon pixma mx350 printer ink level shows exclamation mark about the icon

If you are using an ink refill kit (or buying ink that has been refilled, the ink level will not show accurately) also, if refilling yourself you must clean the pint area of the cartridge with alcohol before installation, and then run the 'clean print head' tools from you Canon menus.

I recommend buying Canon ink, at least for 1 in 4 refills to reset your ink levels.

How do I reset or disable the ink level indicator on the Canon mg2120?

Inkjet cartridges dried up at the nozzles. Can be dissolved by water to print again. Refill cartridges done by yourself can have dried up ink left in the cartridge to make it too concentrated. Too easy to dry up.

I have a Canon PIXMA iP100 printer. I refilled my Canon PGI 35 ink tank and the sensor did not reset so it still says that it has no ink. Is there a way to reset the sensor so the cartridge will work?

Nope. The ink levels cannot be reset on refills for this type of cartridge. As long as your printer still prints you should be good. If it doesn't print you either need to go get another refill or a Canon brand cartridge.

Canon MP610 ink refill

Without the resetter it will continue to give error codes, holding the resume button for 5-10 seconds sometimes will turn off ink level reporting, but you either need the resetter or to purchase and install reset circuit boards on each cartridge you refill.

Reset Ink levels for canon mx310

I've heard that with canon there is a way around the ink-level chip monitoring on the cartridge by doing the following:
  1. Power off printer
  2. Hold RESUME button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
  3. Hold POWER and release RESUME
  4. Press RESUME twice
  5. Release POWER button
  6. When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three(3) times. The indicator should be orange.
  7. Press POWER to set data
