Change outboard motor from manual to electric start

What parts will I need ( part Nos) ?

models? And would the s/h earlier model parts have the same part Nos
as the 2007 motor?
I can procure an after market starter motor, solenoid and wiring. It`s the ring-gear assembly I`m most concerned about.
Can anyone help?
Thanks.

SOURCE: Missing operators manual for Evinrude 2 hp outboard motor

Your best bet is ebay for a replacement user manual. Take a look around, you will come across one... For the meantime, gas oil ratio should be 50 parts gas to 1 part oil, i.e. 50:1. General care: Dont go full throttle for any length of time. Cruise of 3/4 throttle... Always flush engine after use in saltwater, including washing down exterior. Keep spark plugs in good order and check prop for fishing line wrapped around in near the prop hub. Otherwise, get a yearly service and have them check the water pump and replace as needed, get it tuned etc and gearbox oil changed.

Yamaha 200hp 2001 manual

  1. Fuel
    • A common problem with an easy solution, Yamaha boat engine trouble could arise due to inadequate levels of fuel or engine oil. All Yamaha outboards take unleaded gasoline as a main fuel source with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher. The type of engine oil varies according to motor size and can be found in the "Specifications" section of a particular outboard's owner's manual (See Resources).
    Electrical
    • Problems with the electrical system can also prevent a Yamaha outboard's engine from working correctly. Troubleshoot the electrical system, first removing the main fuse that's located underneath the electrical panel on any electric-starting outboard. If the connection at the center of the fuse is broken, it must be replaced by a fuse of the same amperage. The battery should also be removed, cleaned and fully charged when troubleshooting the electrical system.

    Spark Plugs
    • Owners should also remove and inspect the spark plugs during the troubleshooting process. If the insulator tip of any plug is burned, that spark plug should be replaced. The number and type of spark plug depends on the specific outboard. Additionally, owners should ensure that each spark plug gap is set to the width stipulated in the owner's manual (see Resources).

You have two components for the charging systems. Stator and Rectifier regulator. As a rule of thumb we always change both. First you need to confirm that the outboard is not charging your batteries. use a battery load tester on your batteries confirm you have no dead cells. Second with a fully charged battery, multi-meter, and a water hose connected to your outboard cooling system. third for a picture and diagram of the ignition system go to www.yamaha-motor.com. click on outboard motors, parts and service, view parts catalog. find your year make and model by following steps listed at top. search electrical 1,2,3 until you find a RECTIFIER & REGULATOR ASSY. Click on generator to find the stator. when you find it you will have a picture reference. Check for good ground at the Rect/reg. the stator creates AC voltage the rect/reg converts to DC. rect/reg conects to the battery to charge it through a solenoid on the engine. Connect your multimeter to this solenoid to get the true reading from charging system. start engine check voltage through all rpm ranges. 13.5 v thru 15 v. The other troubleshooting test and disasembly will require a Manual. also to remove the stator you'll have to remove the flywheel.Clymer Service manuals are available through your local outboard dealer. good luck
