My 32' LG LED TV has suddenly lost picture! The sound is all right but the Screen is pitch black. After switching it on the picture flashes for a second and then the screen goes completely black.

you will need to check your power supply!
All televisions wich have tese problems with starting faulty and screen staying black have power issues!

it is very likly you have problem with the buffer boards, sometime help to unplug conector and reconect, also check the smd fuse located on one of the boards since there are 2 buffer E&F.

I have the exact same problem and am seeking a solution too ... it won't boot past the Vizio logo on the screen and the remote and side buttons won't work :(

if you have comcast you can use your remote to change the tV program from cabke to DVD then change it back to cable. your image should come back.

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc. Look for 5vdc, 12vdc, and 24dvc.

I just spent an hour trying to fix the VIZIO with the same problem. The screen had no picture at all, but could hear the sound perfectly!! But we i figured out the solution! UNPLUG THE CABLE BOX AND LET IT RE-BOOT! and it WORKED!!!!!
