Rechargeable maglite won't turn on.

My maglite had a dim beam even after charging.  I figured the battery need replaced.  I ordered a new battery, installed it, it turned on for a few seconds nice and bright then blinked out.  Has not turned on since.  Lightbulb still looks good.  If I need to disassemble the flashlight I can't figure out how to do it.

Thank you. This post helped me. I couldn't see the break in the filament of my bulb either so I just figured it had to be the battey so I replaced them and still nothing. After reading this post I put an ohm meter on the bulb and had nothing. Replaced the bulb and it works like a champ again.

I found out the light bulb was bad even though it looked good. Had a fine break in the filament that I couldn't see with my eyes. Pulled the light bulb part way out, put a voltage meter on the two prongs. It showed I had voltage right up to the light bulb which told me the light bulb was bad. Ordered a new one and it works.

Samsung vodaphone 360 not fully charging

If the rechargeable battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be worn out. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% and gradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up at all. OR The battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected the battery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. If the battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to be replaced. Rechargeable batteries will fail if stored in a discharged state for long periods.

Batteries r not charging What could be the problem and could it be repaired

Hello

First, make sure your batteries are rechargeable. But even rechargeable batteries have a lifespan, try charging it into another charger. If it is charging on another charger, then that means your charger is faulty. If it won't charge on another charger, then the batteries are dead, and you need to buy new set of batteries.

Cycling through the modes with a Mini-Maglite

I've had the same problem, even took a new Mini Mag back to the store, only to get another one doing the same thing.....finally realized that the batteries that came with the flashlight were not good. Fresh new batteries solves the problem.

How do i change the bulb

Unscrew the bottom portion, where the batteries go. Then unsrew the top where you can adjust the beam width until it comes off. Very carefully pull the bulb out and replace the old bulb with the new. The Reassemble is the reverse of the procedure.

Keeps turning itself off when adjusting beam

It sounds like the spring in the tail cap may be depressed which would cause intermittent contact with the negative end of the Batt. Shake the flashlight vigorously, you should NOT hear ANY noise. If you DO, take the end cap off and pull on the spring, you are trying to stretch it out a bit, replace the cap and shake it again. Go through these steps until it is QUIET when you shake it.
Also make sure there's NO CORROSION at the Positive and Negative ends of the contacts.
Maglites are pretty user friendly and the best light money can buy. I have the rechargeable model which I carried for 21 years during my tour in law enforcement.
Anyway, if it still refuses to work properly, go to; www.maglite.com they are based in California. They will help you get it going. Good luck. :)

How do you check the switch on a rechargeable mag-lite

There's not much that can go wrong with the switch but things do happen.
I can tell you how to remove the SWITCH then you can go to www.maglite.com to order a new switch if you then think that's what the problem is. However, I do not know how to actually 'test' the SWITCH itsself to determine if it is defective. I have the rechargeable model which is nearly 20yrs old and it developed the same issue about 10yrs ago. I simply removed the old switch, ordered a new one, installed it and now have a happy light.
Let me know and I will send you instructions. :)
