Question about Sony Sound Forge 8.0 for PC

1 Answer

I have the Sony Sound Forge Audio Studio. Normally when I record, auditions for voice over work, I have no problem listening to the playback. Tonight however, when I playback the audio it is so low you almost don't detect it at all. Also, I don't see the grid ( for lack of the propler term). I went into process and clicked normalize and I could at that point hear what I had recorded at normal volume and see a grid but there is also a lot of extraneous noise as well and each time I try to record I am back to the original problem. I don't know much about this software but I have owned it for more than a year and have never had a problem recording and emailing auditions. I cannot think of anything I did differently since the last time I used Sound Forge several days ago, please help.

It sounds like your input levels might be low...which could be why you can barely hear what you've recorded and also why you're hearing so much noise after normalizing. check it out and give it a try!

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

How can I clean up a recording that is full of noise & static?

I Don't know of any Olympus proprietory program to remove noise but if you can export it to a .wav format, it can then be edited and cleaned up digitally buy any semi pro sound editing software.such as sony's Sound Forge or cubase? cakewalk. software used for edit old records for conversion to cd may also help here. From there you can then save to cd for playback. If sound editing is beyond you, contact a recording studio or media house that produces commercials, they may be able to help.
Hope this is helpful

Sony DSC-S700 can record voice in video clips but you can listen sound of clip by exporting it to computer and playback there.
Camera has no built-in speaker to playback sound.
