When I turn the computor on the monitor is working okay. But as soon as I enter mt password, the monitor screen goes black but the icons are still clearly visible

the problem will mostly be a background desktop issue.change the desktop background and you should be having a normal screen again.

I went from a 17" screen to a 19" screen. Now all my desktop icons have shifted to the left? How do I recenter them on the desktop?

It's pretty easy. Start by selecting all icons at once. Just start in the upper left corner, click & hold the mouse button and go to the lower right corner and they will all be selected. Then click and hold one of the icons and drag them to the center of the screen and let go. If they snap right back you will first have to right click on a part of the screen without an icon and a menu will pop up. Go to the view menu and click on "Auto Arrange" to take off the check-mark.

Recently bought an e-machine monitor as well as a new e-mcahine hard drive. we cannot figure out how to se the screen so that we can see the icons on the screen as well as the start button. HELP

Hi
Ok, I have to make assumptions here. Your old monitor and old hard drive went out at the same time? If this is the case then the problem is that the new hard drive has nothing on it. The manufacturer should have given you or sold you a set of recovery CD's. You'll need these to replace the NTFS partition and the operating system. Good luck

Lg xenon won't delete recent text messaging recepants

Unfortunately this is not an easy task...
I finally figured it out on my Xenon after weeks of playing with it and researching it...
1. Make sure all of your contacts in your address book are saved to your SIM card.
2. Make sure all of your photos, ringtones, etc are all saved to your Memory card.
3. Remove your memory card.
4 Go to Settings - then Phone - Then to Reset Settings.
5 Here you want to do a Master Clear. *Warning - this will take away all of your settings on your phone - and you will have to re-customize it. Choose PHONE and not memory card here. It will ask for a security code - by default, your code should be 0000.
6 Put your memory card back in and send out a "test" text to the top 5 people that you text... Those names will now appear in your Most Recent Text Recipients list.

It sucks, and it's a long process, but I can't figure out any other way.

Then you restore all of your settings manually (ringtones, picture wallpaper, etc.)

Hope that helps!!!

How do I adjust my monitor? My home page does not

I'm not sure what operating system you're using nor what you mean by your "home page". If you mean your browser window doesn't fill the whole Windows desktop, what happens when you maximize the window?

If your desktop looks huge with tiny icons (and tiny-looking windows, if you have any open and not maximized) all clustered in the middle of the screen, your display resolution may be set higher than you're accustomed to. In most versions of Windows you can go to Control Panel | Display, see what your current resolution is, and try adjusting it. The higher the numbers, the "bigger" the desktop area (and the smaller the icons and everything else). If you adjust the resolution higher than your monitor can handle, you may lose your display and have to restart the computer in something like Safe mode to get to Control Panel and readjust it. If you adjust the resolution lower (or run in Safe Mode) your icons may not fit on the smaller desktop and may get scrambled. In that case, first straighten out the display resolution, then move your icons back where you want them.

Monitor is enlarged, wont return to normal size

Hi, three possible things. 1) You have activated the magnifier. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, Accessibility, Magnifier - deactivate, should be a small window bottom left of the desktop. or 2) Your screen resolution somehow changed. Right click on any clear part of the desktop, go to properties, Settings Tab. Adjust screen resolution to desired setting then click Apply/OK. or 3)You are in Safemode. Restart and if same large icons etc, do # 2. Hope that this be of some help to you. Pls post how things turn up. Regards
