What i would recommend you to do is to uninstall the device andreinstall it back...to uninstall it...assuming that you are running windows xp...click on start, right click on my computer and go to properties..you should have your system properties open then click under hardware then device manager...lookfor the sansa device..it usually located under portable device..if itsnot showing there i would recommend you to look for under disk drives and see if its there..right click on the device and click on uninstall...after you unintall it unplug your device from the computer....Then follow this link below to downloadthe portingkit...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=A2E73160-E862-4F19-BB26-C0CAFE798955&displaylang=en.Then check the mode of yuor device to make sure it sunder MTP notmsc...To check the mode go under menu, settings and choose usb mode...After you check the mode open up your windows mediaplayer click on tools, options and click under privacy...clear thehistory and caches...after you finish you can plug the device on theback of the computer not the front then windows should recongnize it and it should work properly..if that doesnt solve the problems upgrade your windows media playerto 11 even though you have done that already..and try to reconnect yourdevice..make sure you have it on the back of your computer...

Should you have any questions..let me know..
P.S.Please rate accordingly...
Thank You

How to put msic on it

Hi,
Install the Windows driver included in the product package before connecting your Sylvania MP3 player. Insert the included driver CD into your CD-ROM drive and run the setup file if it does not load automatically. This driver makes sure your computer can recognize and operate the Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 2 Insert one end of the USB cable into the USB port on the Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 3 Insert the other end of the same USB cable into the USB port on the computer.
  • 4 Wait for the computer to recognize the Sylvania MP3 player as a connected device. Open your file manager or browser to locate the Sylvania MP3 player as a drive or connected device if your computer does not prompt you automatically.
  • 5 Open the file folder containing the MP3 or WMA digital music files you wish to download to your Sylvania MP3 player.
  • 6 Drag and drop the file or folder icons of your desired digital music onto the Sylvania MP3 player device icon. Drag and drop the digital music into open folders within the Sylvania MP3 player device icon as well.

My husband bought our grandson a IQ Sound Mp3 player...2 GB. Model style 2700 BL with Fm Radio...I tried loading the disk into my laptop, which runs window xp, which should be compatible..but it isn't...

There are several things you can try:

    1) Try plugging the player into other USB ports. Some players require a "high power" USB port, and most computers/laptops have a mix of high power and low power USB ports. Typically the high power USB ports are found on the back of the computer/laptop.

    2) Verify that the USB cable is undamaged.

    3) Some players are able to operate in one of two modes, "MSC" and "MTP". Usually you can switch between the two modes via a Settings menu on the player. Some players can only operate in one of the two modes. If your player is set to MTP mode, or can only operate in this mode, you need to have Windows Media Player version 10 or higher installed. (Many older computers have version 9 installed, which won't work with MTP.) You can find this software here:

How do i change the battery

    1. Remove the cap over the USB plug and insert the unit into the USB port of a desktop or laptop computer. The computer will recognize the Sansa Express as a new hard disk drive.

    2. Locate the battery icon on the upper right of the screen. The battery icon will fill in with color as the unit charges. When the icon is filled in, the charge is complete. The unit will fully charge in about 3 hours as long as the desktop computer or laptop is powered on.

    3. Plug the unit into the USB port of a car or AC adapter and then plug the adapter into an AC outlet or an auto cigarette lighter socket, as the case may be. The Sansa Express will charge in about 3 hours.
