Need Help!!!!

Everytime I turn on my camera, the AF dot flashes red and after I take one picture, the camera turns off. About 5 seconds later, the camera turns back on, but I am not able to take any pictures. I do not have any idea how to fix this problem. My camera is only a couple of months old. If anyone could help me I would very much appreciate it!!!
