Question about Computers & Internet

My son spilled soda on our keyboard. Now the x and s stick. I took it apart and cleaned it, but it still sticks. Also, a wire fell out from the space bar and I cannot figure out how to put it back. Thus the space bar has lost its bounce or spring.

You know that keyboard price is very cheap nowadays :)
If stick that you mean you press the key and it won't return back to normal position, try to dip the key that you've taken apart to a hot water and shake a little. Not too hot or it will melt :)
If stick that you mean although already took apart the "x" and the "s" seems to be pressed repeatedly then you must clean the inner part of the keyboard. In this point, pls consider warranty or buying a new one instead because its not worth the pain.
And please spare me the space bar :) it needs a patient and a basic physics rule of how springs works :)

You cleaned the rubber under the buttons and the buttons too? All you do is put the metal bars straight down then angle it about 10 degree towards you then put it in like a regular key, but if you lost the wire then.... might need to get a new one, heh.

Keyboard dont type

No matter how careful you may be, knocking a cup of coffee or spilling a glass of soda over your keyboard may happen. This does not, however, mean the end of your keyboard. If you act quickly, you may be able to fix your wet keyboard to avoid any corrosion of its electronic components or any short circuit which might render it unusable. By following a few recommendations, you should be able to fix your wet computer keyboard.

Unplug the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any corrosion or short circuit. If you spilled water over your laptop's keyboard, turn your computer off by clicking on "Shut Down" on "Turn Off" in the start menu, unplug the power supply and remove the battery. Turn the keyboard upside down and shake it to remove most of the water from it. Take a hair dryer and set it to its lowest temperature setting. Use it to dry any water which might remain under your keyboard's keys. Wait at least 12 hours before plugging your keyboard into your computer again. If your computer is a laptop, wait 12 hours before turning it on again. For Other Liquids Disconnect the keyboard from your computer immediately after the spill to avoid any short circuit or corrosion. Turn your computer off by selecting "Shut Down" or "Turn Off" in the start menu, remove the battery and disconnect the power supply. Place paper towels on a table, turn the keyboard upside down and shake it over them to allow most of the liquid to fall down. Take a few clean paper towels and wipe the liquid off your keyboard's keys. To clean between the keys, you can also use cotton swabs with just a little bit of water. If the liquid which you spilled over your keyboard contained a high amount of sugar, such as soda or sugared coffee, you might have to remove some of your keyboard's keys to clean the surface under the keys with paper towels or swabs. You can do so by lifting them gently with a screwdriver or by using a key remover, which you can find in some IT stores. Wait at least 12 hours before using your keyboard again. If your computer is a laptop, wait the same length of time before turning it on again. My shift key is sticking any solutions

I would think that you spilled food or liquid on it. Assuming you have a standard keyboard. You just need to clean it. Unplug it (obviously), then take it apart by removing the screws on the back. Pop the button out and use a q-tip and some water to clean in and around it.

My son put together a 4gb pny usb for me on my vacation put a bunch of games i just love playing all i get is pictures but not the videos we took at the zoo and only pics and parts of the games playing...

I can only guess that the 4Gb PNY USB is full and that ran out of space and that it couls not store all the photos, videos and games. 4Gb is not a very large USB memory stick to store all this data.
Photos require a lot of storage space depending upon the number of photos and the size of the photos. Video movies require even more storage space and this depends upon the video resolution and the length of the movie.

PC FELL AND THE YELLOW LIGHT IS ON BUT THE PC WILL NOT BOOT UP

Open the case of the computer and check all of the wire and cable connections and check that the ram sticks are fully seated and locked. Just one loose wire or a loose ram stick will stop a PC from booting up.

i have already posted the solution to my problem.....but i will tell you in more specifics what transpired.........after removing my spacebar.....i used electric pre-shave (an alcohol based solutions with a slight amount of lubrication).......with a few drops of that and a q-tip i cleaned the black tarry mass that had accumulated underneath the space bar most likely from spilled pop, coffee, pancake syrup, cat hairs, and only god knows what else...........after replacing it it worked fine mechanically and physically but did not work on the screen......after a day or two it started working .....i guess the alcohol needed to dry out .....i did put two drops down the tube that had a pad at the bottom (contacts underneath it ).........everything working better than new now .......thanks for being here to help.........

Hi. I spilled coffee on keyboard ACER 9410 laptop. Now a couple of the keys do not work and screen jumps when I hit some keys on right side of keyboard. Can I replace the keyboard to fix the problem and...

I did the same thing. Here's what I did:
Took whole thing apart. Cleaned any coffee with q-tips dipped in water / paper towels. Removed the keyboard. Ran it through the dishwasher with no soap in it and heated dryer off of course.
I let it dry for a day and was bummed that now the whole keyboard stopped working. Well then 4 days later to my surprise / delight.. the whole thing started working again. New keyboards on ebay were also very reasonable. But mine still works perfectly after the dishwasher cleaning.

Hp 530 laptop = dead no lights/nothing...power supply reads 19.2 volts with meter.son spilled drink on keyboard..suggestions?

Remove battery and power. Take apart as much as possible. wash any wet/sticky parts in de-ionised water (as used for topping up batteries), allow to thoroughly dry before re-assembling and powering up. Leave at least 24 hrs to dry.

Try not to get circuit board too wet, but if it does not work then you have nothing to lose!

Liquid on keyboard can be very difficult to fix as damp gets under the membrane - even if computer works the keyboard may not but you could always use USB keyboard.
If you have any Silica Gel packets, put notebook and all parts in a plastic bag with them to absorb all moisture (but make sure no powder gets into the components).

Good luck!
