Question about Acer Aspire 5050-3242 Notebook
I have a ViviCam 3785 camera with a SD Impact card. I have Windows Vista on my laptop and I use to be able to load pics onto my comp. Now when I put the SD card in or plug in the USB cable and connect it to my comp, the photo gallery pops up, but it says, "Photo Gallery can't open this picture or video. This file format is not supported, or you don't have the latest updates to Photo Gallery." I checked out the updates issue and it keeps saying I do have the latest updates. Now I admit, I do not have the slightest idea as far as technical issues with comps period. I don't know what to do from this point, but like I said before it was allowing me to load pics before so I don't know what happened. Any attempt to help me on this issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks for your time and effort.
I finally figured it out. Somehow I had messed with the Autoplay settings uploading pics the last time I guess. Anyways, if you experience this problem, check this out first and see if it fixes it for you before you do anything else:
What if the import dialog box doesn't appear? If the dialog box prompting you to import your pictures doesn't appear when you connect the camera to your computer, AutoPlay might be turned off. You can import your pictures using Windows Photo Gallery instead. Here's how:
1. Open Windows Photo Gallery by clicking the Start button , clicking All Programs, and then clicking Windows Photo Gallery.
2. On the toolbar, click File, and then click Import from Camera or Scanner.
3. In the Import Pictures and Videos dialog box, choose your camera from the list of devices, and then click I can't load new pics onto Windows Vista Photo Gal - gl_alert_vert.png /> If you prefer, you can turn on AutoPlay or set AutoPlay to automatically import pictures from a digital camera.
