EMachines monitor keeps flashing the On Screen Display menu.
I think the year I bought the monitor with the computer was around 2006. The buttons on the side won't work. When I press the Menu button on the side it stops the menu from flashing... until I remove my finger.
How can I turn the On Screen Display Menu off using the computer or how do I fix my button problem?

Re: eMachines monitor keeps flashing the On Screen...
If it is the button. you would have to open the monitor and fix it that way, and i dont suggest doing that yourself, unless you are familiar with electronic components. take it to a repair shop. call around and get an idea of who would do the best job for the best price.

sounds like you have to set the monitor resolution using your computer. right click desktop...
graphics options. or Properties. look for Resolution slider. Move it around. press apply. see what happens. if it now fits but is fuzzy. change the refresh rate eg. 60 Hz or 75 Hz.
On the monitor itself there is typically a button that allows you to move the image to fit the screen, quite often these settings are inadvertently played with by children ect. look for buttons/ menu's on your monitor itself. play with the settings .
my hcl 17inches monitor is displaying contrast, brightness etc automatically in the middle of the screen.even if i press the menu buttons it disappears for a sec and comes again and again.what should i do to solve this?
Same problem here. I've had this monitor almost two years with no
problem until this morning when it started flashing the menu screen and
nothing I do will make it stop. Oh well, it was only a hundred dollars.
I guess this is emachine's way of saying, "you got your money's worth,
now throw this piece of junk away and get another", lol. And therein lies the solution! :)
it is not a bad rom. if it was a rom it would constantly act up but it only acts up upon overheating. The solution is difficult but if you open the monitor you can find all of the heatsinks take them of and replace them with bigger ones. or have a fan blowing on it at all time it is active i added bigger heatsinks to my emachine le1799 and it solved this problem of pulling up menu and changing setting by itself and the lack of the ability to turn power of.
