The open/close button will not open the dvd tray and a "locked" message appears in the window. The tray on my Toshiba DVD player is locked, and will not open, either via the remote control or the button on the unit itself. Page 32 of my user's manual says to Press SETUP button, then press the number button 2005, to lock and to unlock the tray. However, there is no number button 2005 on the remote control, and I cannot enter numbers in the SETUP mode, except for the PARENTAL LOCK, which takes a 4 digit code. However, when I enter 2005 at that part of the menu, nothing happens.
If anyone has a solution, thank you for providing such.

- I will tell you what DID work. I finally unplugged the DVD player and opened the housing, accessing the motor. In order to access it, I unplugged the electrical connection of the motor to the motherboard (or equivalent). When I reconnected things, after ensuring that the motor was OK, it now works! I think in disconnecting the electrical connection of the motor to the motherboard, I reset something.
