The camera was working just fine over Christmas. I've tried several batteries in it and I still get the "low battery" indicator.

Many digital cameras (eg Samsung D53, Nikon 2100) have extremely poor battery life with alkaline batteries (under 20 shots!). Sometimes they won't even take a single picture.

Try using rechargeable batteries or "oxyride" disposable batteries. They perform infinately better.

I have the Samsung Digimax 420 and a 2gb SD card won't work

You might just need to format the new cards in the camera to optimize them. Try that.

Samsung Digimax D53 Camera says low battery but just replaced with brand new ones. Camera beeps and shuts down immediately.

For digital cameras you should use either Rechargeable(whith high Ampere) or high performance alkaline batteries (ie. Lithium Duracel or Enegizer) normal alkaline batteries will not be able to charge the Flash. If you are useing high performance batteries then it is sadly your camera which is faulty. repairing it you could but it is cheaper to get a new camera.

Good luck!

This is a system failure and reference to the Samsung support site will either offer to repair or simply replace with a new camera [some models are not repairable]
