Question about Sony VAIO RB30C (VGCRB30) PC Desktop

Computer Turns on but nothing on monitor

I got a Vaio RB-30. Starts fine, but the moment it does, the green light on the monitor goes orange (off). I hooked up my laptop to the monitor, using the current cable that connects the RB-30 to the monitor, and the monitor works just fine. Would appreciate your assessments and thoughts. Thanks

My first thought is a bad video card. However, there are other things that can cause your computer to start to boot and then fail. Things like a bad BIOS upgrade or a bad CPU or memory chip would stop the boot. A bad HD or floppy disk will not stop anything being displayed. If your video is built-in instead of an add-on card that could be really tough to fix as they aren't really fixable on the motherboard. Do you get any beeps when it boots? That's usually an indicator of bad memory or CPU. Something to try and no guarantee on this is to remove the battery for a minute and try the boot. It won't fix a bad CPU or memory chip, but could clear out a bad BIOS setting. There's also a jumper on the motherboard that does that, too. You'd have to look it up in the manual to see where it's at.

The monitor detects the presence or absence of synchronization signals so your video (integrated or otherwise) isn't putting out video or sync signals. This could be because the boot isn't happening as it should or just a bad video installation.

Dell monitor starts well goes on a green light shows then it blacks out and the light on the front turns to amber(yelow)

The lamp goes "orange" when no "signal" is detected.
Check that the "video" cable is tightly-connected to both
the computer and the monitor.
Try the monitor on a different computer.
Try a borrowed monitor on your computer.
Try a different video-card inside your computer.

My monitor doesn't display anything, though it's receiving input from the CPU. I know that input is being received because the monitor status light is green, and times out (turns orange).

Same thing happened to me! Went to bed last night, everything was fine. Woke up today, orange light came on, no display, slight flickering seen, but that's it. Cables and cords are fine, tried unplugging and plugging it back in, NOTHING. Totally dead. I'm guess off to buy a new one today. Typical made-in-China JUNK.

Screen Goes Blank

Ive seen this on other monitors. Look for a 1 and 2. Some monitors do NOT auto detect a signal, and this one might not. Look for a way to set the monitor from Digital input to VGA input. Try that and see.

Light on monitor is green when turned on, but then turns orange with nothing on the screen. I can hear the computer running though.

your monitor is not recieving a video signal from your pc. check your connection to pc, then check things like bad memory card, etc. sometimes just shut pc on and off a few times clears this up.

Rplaced power unit now the monitor will not come up with anything on it. Orange light blinking on front of cpu.

Make sure your monitor is connected to the proper video connection- that is if you have a video card in your machine and a video connection on your motherboard. If you connected to the motherboard and you have a video card -your screen will show nothing even though you are powered up. Dont know your situation, but just checking. Ive seen others do this.

I have a shap lcd computer monitor and when i plug it into my computer and turn the power on, the little green power light comes on, screens back. and after 5-10 seconds the light turns orange and blinks...

It could be your monitor is fine. It simply goes to a cycle when its turned on and does not detect any signal coming from your CPU, it simply goes on standby mode (hence the darker image and orange/blinking light.) have you checked the computer (CPU) part?

No Input Signal

Dont Panic it is Nothing...
Your Monitor is safe...
If it say "no Input signal" - "Check VGA cable"

it means that the Monitor is finding signals from the computer, and the cable is either not connected or unsecurely connected.
