Dell 1110 Laser Printer Solid red warning light

Hi there, we had a paper jam, cleared everything ( I think) but the solid red LED stays on. I'm not able to access the online manual, can you tell me why the light stays on? Thanks! Lee

    Paper is jam in the printer. I removed the toner but cannot free the paper? I need help?

The first thing to do on any Dell laser unit is to reset it. On the 1100/1110 just hold down the cancel button while flipping the power switch on. Keep holding it until the green power LED and the red exclamation LED flash alternately. Flip the power switch off and back on again. The unit has now been reset, if the exclamation light is still on, try something else. If it's not, you're welcome. =)

I just fixed one of these here in the office a few minutes ago with just a reset. It previsously had the red exclamation LED on solid. Always reset these 1100/1110s first. They can be cranky sometimes. =)

Hi in this case the paper jam made some sensor through the paper road they are not in normal position or still tigger on by piece of something or error stander. you may try:
1) check paper input sensor near paper tray roller\
2) check margin sensor inside paper way before drum unit
3) check fuser sensor near fuser unit
4) check paper output sensor near output tray roller
sometime need sensor adjustment back to normal position

Hello,
If you have flashing RED and GREEN LEDs on your Dell 1110 your printer will need servicing by the Dell service department. It is hard to say what is wrong without looking at the printer in person but those two lights together spell trouble not easily fixed. It could be a damaged circuit board or component. This typically has nothing to do with ink, paper jams, etc.

I own a ML-2525/XAA and have a blinking light on the right hand side of the unit. It looks like: <--->/(a triangle with an explanation mark inside it.


Per your user manual, here is a list of all the LED status':

Jam (b-error.png)

Orange

On

A paper jam has occurred. (See Clearing paper jams.)

Online/Error (b-online.png)


Off

  • The machine is off-line.

Green

On

  • The machine is in power saver mode.

  • The machine is on-line and can receive data from the computer.

Blinking

  • When the LED slowly bilnks, the machine is receiving data from the computer.

  • When the LED rapidly blinks, the machine is printing data.

Red

On

  • The cover is opened. Close the cover.

  • There is no paper in the tray. Load paper in the tray.

  • The machine has stopped due to a major error.

  • Your system has some problems. If this problem occurs, contact your service representative.

  • A toner cartridge has almost reached its estimated cartridge life[a]. It is recommended to replace the toner cartridge. (SeeReplacing the toner cartridge.)

Blinking

  • A minor error has occurred and the machine is waiting for the error to be cleared. When the problem is cleared, the machine resumes.

  • Small amount of toner is left in the cartridge. The estimated cartridge life[a] of toner is close. Prepare a new cartridge for replacement. You may temporarily increase the printing quality by redistributing the toner. (See Redistributing toner.)

Hi,

The problem is that the printer thinks that there is a paper jam inside the printer. What could be happening is that there was a paper jam the paper was pulled out but the actual sensor that detected the paper probably got damaged, either broken or malfunctioning. In this case try the following, turn off the printer and open the front cover. Then press and hold down the two front buttons while having the cover open and turn the printer on. Then wait untill the bottom light stays on solid then release the buttons that should reset the printer. If after that the paper jam error does not go away then you are probably looking at a damaged sensor. To fix that you will have to take it in to have it service.

When power on if your printer is red light>insert paper in tray.If red light is not go green.then you can get a decision paper sensor missing or paper jam or any sensor displace,check it .If you are not fix this problem,please open cartridge and insert again also the same problem.may be is fault fussier unite.please call a service technician who is expert this printer.

Paper Jam


Hi,

You need to try clearing the paper using a airblower if you do not have a air blower try with a vacuum cleaner, surely it cleans up. Unless until you remove the paper it shows the msg.

If you think you have no other option and you tried everything its better to call some service guy and get it done.

Red light stays on, but nothing moving after clearing paper jam


About the last post, I must also add that the main clue that led me to that conclusion, was the fact that, when I first turned the printer on, THE FAN BEGAN to rotate. Hence, I thought, all the other aspects were right, but somewhere there might be a mechanical "jamming" that stops either the fan or other part to move and obstacles the cylinders or gears from moving, hence sending the printer a signal of jamming. I had looked for the "messages" from the printer, and the diagnosis for our problem (red light in the online error, and green light in Toner Save) was that either there was no ink or no cartridge, no paper, or paper jamming (please post if there was other cause for this diagnosis). I discarded the other grounds, so the unique left was that the printer thought was that there was a paper jamming. This lead to the fix I described in my previous post.

The red lite indicates one of the following needs to be looked at:

Cover open (Front cover) Close the front cover.

Cover open (Jam clear cover) Close the jam clear cover of the fuser unit.

Memory full - Press the go button.

Print overrun - Press the go button.

Clean drum unit - Clean the corona wire.
