Question about Optoma MovieTime DV10 Multimedia Projector

Open Question

My Optoma Movie Time remote control doesn't work anymore. I have changed the old AA batteries and put brand new ones, but it doesn't work. What can I do? Does the remote control have other batteries that are needed to replace? My projector is only 2 years old and I have only used it times. Can I get a replacement?

The same problem here, no response over a fortnight (so far) from Optoma CS (via phone and email) who were meant to be sending a form re: purchasing a new one.

-toggle the laptop display using the FN keys and F5 I believe. -lower laptop resolution to 800 x 600 -look in laptop display properties for lcd or external display settings, see if it (external crt) has to be enabled on the laptop first.

SOURCE: Optoma DV10 MovieTime Color Wheel replacement

Hi guys

Your best bet on getting your hands on a Service Manual would be to contact Optoma themself.

As for changing the colour wheel , it is pretty straight forward if you were able to open up the unit and get to it.

The colourwheel is mounted with three tiny scrws to a bracket in which it sits. And the bracket in it's turn is fastenend to the body of the Projector with two tiny screws.

First unscrew the bracket from the casing of the Projector and then take off the three screws that holds the Colour wheel to the bracket. Replace and do the whole proses again - but obviously just the other way round.

This is really easy to do yourself.

Give me a shout if you need any further assistance.

Thanks for using Fixya and good luck.

SOURCE: I plugged my optoma projector

Here is a link to a webpage that gives you a detailed explanation with pictures. Although it describes how to hook up the ipod to a TV, it is exactly the same for a projector. More than likely from your description you already have the wires, so you need to enable the video settings.
Setting up your iPod video options lets you control how you export video. The iPod Video Options screen selects how your iPod handles video file playback.
To open these settings, choose Videos -> Video Settings from your main iPod menu. This screen offers three settings: TV Out, TV Signal and Widescreen. Adjust to produce the video playback style you need.
Use this setting to choose from:

  • No. Playback remains on the iPod itself.
  • Yes. A TV signal is produced.
  • Ask. The iPod prompts you whenever you play a video file.

Which input are you using? Some models will disable certain controls when using the HDMI or DVI inputs. Just to troubleshoot, try switching to a different input (composite video, s-video, or component) and see if the controls re-appear.

Wont power up optoma movie time

it's probably not this: Try using the remote to turn it on. I cleaned out mine a while ago and the controls on the main unit stopped working. Only way to turn it on now (for me) is the remote.
