WSUS will not download updates

I installed a SonicWall CSM 3200 (content filter) and now the WSUS will not download new updates. I've tried adding all the Windows update sites but that did not work. I'm getting an error about the HTTP byte-range requests. The content filter does not seem to have a setting for it.

    Solution - The Sonicwall CSM 3200 has a gateway antivirus running.  I had to disable this and it allowed the WSUS to synchronize and download updates in case anyone has this same problem.

Are you behind a firewall performing some kind of deep packet inspection/AV/Spyware removal? It may be corrupting your HTTP Range headers during BITS transfers on the client.
I experienced a similar error through a SonicWall with GatewayAV (no proxy, just the Sonic) and had to enable HTTP byte-range requests. This can happen to both server and client BITS downloads...

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll to sound video and game controllers you might see a yellow question / exclamation? ! mark or a red X Right click to reinstall drivers If your computer came with a motherboard disk the drivers could be on it or you might download slimdrivers. Rather doing a driver hunt http://download.cnet.com/slimdrivers-free/3000-18513_4-75279940.html Windows XP/Vista/7/8 Note: it will find all of your outdated drivers This is a free driver solutions which will automatically search for and find the correct driver You will have to update every driver individually once you update you might be asked whether you want to restart or make a system restore point. Click no to both of these then continue updating each driver free then restart once all of the drivers have been updated.

How we can change windows7 langueg for exmple fraench to english

Windows 7 language packs are available for computers that are running Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise. The Windows 7 language packs can be installed only from the Optional Updates section in Windows Update. However, these language packs are not available on the Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server or through the Microsoft Download Center.

To download and install a Windows 7 language pack, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Update. To do this, click Start Collapse this imageExpand this image vistastartbutton.jpg, type Microsoft Update in the Start Search box, and then click Microsoft Update in the Programs list.
  2. Click the optional update links for the language packs.
  3. Under the Windows 7 Language Packs category, select the desired language pack.

    Note If you install many additional language packs, the disk space and system performance are affected. In particular, disk space and system performance are affected during servicing operations, such as Service Pack installations. Therefore, we recommend that you only add a language pack to your computer if you will use the language pack.
  4. Click OK, and then click Install updates to start the download and installation process.

    When you install a language pack, you can change the interface language of Windows 7 to the language that you select.
    Language packs also let multiple users who share a computer select distinct display languages. For example, one user can select to see the dialog boxes, menus, and other text in Japanese, whereas another user can select to see the same content in French.

    To change the display language, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then type Change display language in the Start Search box.
    2. Click Change display language.
    3. In the drop-down list that appears, select the language that you want, and then click OK.
    To uninstall a language pack, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, and then type Uninstall display language in the Start Search box.
    2. Click Install or uninstall display languages.
    3. Click Uninstall display languages.
    4. Select the language or the languages that you want to uninstall, and then click Next.
    5. Follow the rest of the steps to uninstall this language or these languages.
    After you install the desired language packs, you can hide unwanted language packs in Windows Update. To hide unwanted language packs in Windows Update, follow these steps:
    1. Click the Windows 7 Language Packs category in the Select the updates you want to install page to highlight all the language packs.
    2. Right-click the highlighted updates, and then select Hide update.

I just purchased a new modem and the sonic wall tz190 will not retrieve new ip address...

1. Check the manufacturer's web site for update this could be the issue
Most new router modem off the shelf have not been update by the manufacturer due to delay engineer changes and may only become available after shipment to the retail stores.
Here is there site if you can connect through a friend or relative connection and download the updates for your unit.
the update also may be able to go onto a 4gb flashdrive.

Unable to check for updates with Windows Vista Home Premiun, SP1, 32 bits, error code 80244019 for Windiws Update and 0x80244019 for Windows Defender, last update instaled Jan/01/09

I've been having the same error when I try to run Windows update on a Vista Ultimate machine setup for use with our SBS 2003 server running ISA 2004.

The Solution that I found is this.

When you setup Vista for use with a domain it creates the following regkey with a subkey etc ( policy ) that sets Vista to look for a WSUS server.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate]
"WUServer"="http://serversbs"
"WUStatusServer"="http://serversbs"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU]
"NoAutoUpdate"=dword:00000000
"AUOptions"=dword:00000004
"ScheduledInstallDay"=dword:00000000
"ScheduledInstallTime"=dword:00000003
"NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers"=dword:00000001
"RescheduleWaitTime"=dword:00000001
"UseWUServer"=dword:00000001

When I deleted this key and rebooted my PC windows update was working.

Hope this was somehow usefull
