Why is the white rice not cooking all the way in my food steamer?

use regular long grain rice but the cooker turn off about three minutes too early and the rice didn't fully cook.

95% of the time you have used too much rice, more than the capacity the rice cooker can cook. Never cook more than what is recommended by the manual. Most cooking jars have a maximum line to indicate how much it can hold. When a rice cooker is too full, the vapor will boil off too fast and only leave the rice in the container, which will reach high temperature faster than normal operation. When the cooker senses that the temperature has risen to the right level it will turn off. This is why you are left with rice that has not been fully cooked. This problem can also be caused by the cooker temperature sensor being off, if so in most cases the cooker needs to be replaced.

Most of the time, white rice not cooking all the way is caused from the use of slow cooking rice. If you are using slow cooking rice, use 1-cup of rice to 1 1/4 cups of water and cook for 35 minutes.
