If the water continues to come in without the washer being on, then you have faulty inlet valve, replace.
If it stops when you turn m/c off, then you probably have a sticking water level switch, or a blocked pressure chamber and /or pressure hose.
the pressure chamber and hose are located at the rear right side of the m/c .
Remove lower rear panel, and remove the hose with the long thin hose attached to it this is the pressure chamber and hose, thoroughly clean and fit back.Test it for leaks.
This should solve the problem.
While in the back I would suggest you remove large black hose and clean the filter located in there as this could also be a factor in it overfilling.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks

Water fills up in tub but wont shut off flooded

Sounds like a problem with either the inlet valve or the pressure switch, the way to determine which is bad... while the machine is filling pull the power plug..if the water keeps filling it's the inlet valve that is going to be bad..if it stops filling it's going to be the pressure switch. The pressure switch is located in the control panel and has a small rubber pipe attached.once you have figured which it is replace it good luck.
If you have any other questions or concerns please feel free to comment again..Mike

Fills up with water and wont stop

if it still fills , with power off, the valve is letting by water and has become faulty,if water stops with power off, check for smudged powder at the lower part of the pressure switch pipe giving a false read to pressure switch, other than that the pressure switch has become faulty, look at the pressure switch pipe first for blockage, hope this helps

Sounds like your inlet valve is stuck Open ( meaning it wont shut off incoming water ) That may be defective or the control to it may be at fault.. Try unplugging the washer ..and see if the water still continues to fill up the drum? If that happens, then your valve is probably in need of replacement.. Typically, when de-energized..they close and stop water from entering the system.. Hope that helps

Hoover Premier 706 (model A6950) washing machine. When filling water wont shut off.Turn power off water shuts off.If I remove hose from side of bowl and gently blow into it water shuts off.Machine is old...

Inserted flexible piece of thin wire into hose connectioin on outside of bowl and vigoursly wriggled it around - replaced hose and bingo water fills and shuts off and machine operates correctly. Seems like the hose connection was blocked, not a very scientific repair method but seems to have worked. Thanks.
