Re: deleted songs still on mp3
To delete songs from your device follow the steps below You have to make sure that the device is on MSC mode...then make sure your device is plug in to the computer..Then go to programs - accesories - windows explorer, find the SanDisk in my computer, go to media, music and delete them from there. Either under sync panel in your windows media player it will show your music when it's connected. just click the plus signs for what song you need to get rid of, right click and click delete. To
format it..on your device..go under..menu, setting and there should be
a format option option there..let me know if that doenst work for you... Hope this helps

Your DB might be corrupt. Folow the delete procedure one more time:
Delete Music Files
1) Connect your Sansa to the computer.
2) Select Open device to view files using Windows Explorer on initial
3) Select the place where you want to delete music files from
4) Highlight and delete the music file/s or folder from My Computer\Sansa
e200\...\MUSIC folder. (You can also select from a variety of music
software programs to transfer/synchronize your files).
If that fails, go ahead and update the firmware - it will delete everything, and allow you to start over from scratch among other things.
Make sure the hold switch is not engaged.
Remove the songs from the player and then reload them. If they are froma subscription service, make sure they do not have fixed-term licenses on them. Right-click song --> Properties --> digital rights or media usage rights Use Windows Media Player to view the songs that are stored on your mp3 player - best to view them in the "Sync" tab. Find the song that you want to delete, right-click the song, and select Delete (or left-click and press Delete on your keyboard). Voila!
I should have Googled this before posting. I'm not sure if I found the solution here or elsewhere but... I deleted the /system/database folder and after it restarted and rebuilt the database the 'Bad Track' was gone. I was able to load the player with MP3s and it has worked flawlessly since.
The songs are in the wrong format or have expired licenses
There are 2 ways to format an mp3 player - if you were formatting the mp3 player from "My Computer," then try reformatting from Windows Media Player instead - I have a "tips and tricks" entry on How to Format an Mp3 Player for details If that doesn't work, then double-click on My Computer, double-click on the Sansa player, and go to the various folders that it lists - music, voice, etc. Delete the songs ONLY - do not delete the dat, bat, ini, inf, or other system files
the reason it doesn't show the track version is because you changed the ID3 tag (which is something inside the music file, not the actual file name). Try using winamp to delete your songs, it will read all the ID3 tags properly and show you the track version names
