Sansui HDLCD1908 - want to use ipod headphones with TV

I own a fitness center and have 4 Sansui HDLCD1908 flat panel tvs mounted in front of the treadmills. I would like to be able to plug in my ipod headphones (or any other standard headphones) to listen to the tv so I will not disturb others. I was told to purchase an RCA to mini headphone cable. I did so and I also added a stereo coupler (female on both ends) to the male end of that cable where I will plug in the headphones. I do not hear anything through the headphones and the sound is still broadcasting through the tv's speakers. Do I have to set something special by programming through the menu? I am very frustrated and do not know anything about audio cabling or settings. Customer support is not available on the weekend. Please help, thanks!

We are trying to hook our TV up to our computer to use it as a monitor. What cords do we need to do this besides the normal monitor cord?

if you want audio as well, it will depend on what kind of audio connection your tv has next to the VGA (computer monitor) connection. If it looks like the normal RCA audio, (red and white plugs) you will need to get a male headphone jack (to plug into your computer headphone or speaker out jack) to stereo RCA cable so you would have a headphone jack on one side of the cable and a red and white plug on the other side. Now if your TV just has what look like a headphone jack next to the VGA (computer monitor plug) you will need to buy a male to male stereo headphone jack cable. for both of these, just make sure the cable you get it long enough, or buy an extension.

I relocated to another state and I have a Sansui HDLCD1908 tv, I have this extra power cord I'm assuming it connects to the tv, all the other cords to all the other electronics are accounted for and...

It will connect in the back of the TV. You will see a female socket under the lip of the RCA connections and RF connectors. This power cord is just like the computer power cord you already use! Thanks for asking and show a few hands of support!

Activating HD mode

You do not activate or set the TV resolution at the TV, the signal feeding the TV has to be hi-def for the TV to show HI-DEF. TV will show what is being fed with, lo-def in = lo-def display.
