LaGarde Bankruptcy What can you tell us about the bankruptcy of Lagarde, and the wholesale sellout of it's clients, with their server migration on the final shopping weekend of Christmas shutting down several big websites?

LaGarde, Inc. (StoreFront) is a complete waist of time and money! I had many years and thousands of dollars invested in their inoperable unfixable bug ridden 6.X/7.X. The last straw (other than support did not answer any calls, email, or voicemail messages for about a month) was when they tried to move our Windows website to a Linux based OS. Needless to say, we were down for a few days and Jeff Auslander (the new CEO) wouldn't even step up to the plate to offer assistance.

I am no longer with them. Their software is horrible anyway compared to other carts at 1/4 of the price that actually offer real customer service and features that work.

LaGarde is moving their hosting again starting this week (2/17/09). I think they are hurting pretty bad. If you look at their website, they are trying to give their software away. Don't think they have many takers and lots of pissed off clients. They deserve it!

I second the poor opinion of StoreFront support. I lost 36 hours of prime sales time the weekend before Christmas when they failed at an attempt to move their data center. They are in the middle of the second data center move attempt and my store has been non functional for the past 12 hours. To rub salt in the wound, they will not answer there e-mail or the special data center move help phone line. The message center is now full and will no longer take messages. I have written 2 e-mails to their "CEO" Jeff Auslander and he refuses to answer and will not even delegate a reply to a subordinate. No leadership and no hope for that company. Dont' trust your company to them. RH

What about tech support at Applied? Storefront has free tech support for problems that arise, and when the store is running  they are usually responsive and have fixed things when needed. Does Applied offer this kind of support for Storefront?

What about tech support? IS it free? Is it strong for Storefront software?

I have been developing with Storefront software for many years though luckily never had my own sites hosted with them. Many of my clients are/did host with them. Many of them have been down all week. I am recommending that all of them switch to the company that I have hosted with for over 10 years. They currently have a special offer for users that need to switch where they get the first month for a penny. The code is STOREMOVE and it lets you get this package for 1 cent for the first month. (I don't work for them or make any money from the link). They have great support.

If your website data and the database have been properly moved then you should be able to do all that you need to do from the new control panel (not the merchant tools). You can download your server files and a backup of your database. You can then restore these files using the Applied control panel.
