Question about Philips SWV6813-17 HDMI 3-Way Switcher
The switcher will recognize the sony blu-ray player, regardless of position, however it will not recognize the computer or the DVD player when hooked up to the other 2 inputs. It recognised the macintosh computer only once where I could switch between the sony and the mac. Hasn't recognized computer since.

It is illegal to change the zone on a DVD or Blu-Ray player. You should invest in what is called a Multizone Blu-Ray Player - it will play any disc from any region. That is the only legal answer I can offer. YouTube does, hoewever, feature hacks on unlocking the region code - but it is still illegal.

If there is some type of audio cable running directly from the Vizio to the HTS6500, then you can just plug the Blu-Ray player into the TV and you're set. If the current audio cables are running instead from the cable or sat box to the HTS6500, then you will need to run audio cables from the Blu-Ray to the Philips HTS6500. There are 3 available audio slots on the Philips - the Digital Audio/Coaxial IN, AUX 1, and AUX 2. If the Digital Audio slot is already taken, then you will have to run red and white cables from the Blu-Ray player Audio OUT to either the Aux 1 or Aux 2 on the Philips (I am making a huge assumption that your Blu-Ray player has red/white audio outs). If the Digital Audio slot on the Philips is not taken, then run a digital audio cable from the Blu-Ray to the Philips. Good luck!
