Did not get any solution besides I should just go buy a new fridge. Have read too many horror stories about people fixing 5 or 6 year old fridges just to have them go bad again. Not worth it. But I appreciate your help.

Fridge quit cooling. The heating element works and propane works. Gets really hot but fridge does cool. There was no smell of ammonia and no yellow residue. What could it be?


How can "fridge quit cooling" but later you say "but fridge does cool" of course this absorption cycle system gets hot on the outside, heat is the "driver" of the system rather than an electrically driven compressor in the normal fridge. Is this a homework problem?
