Hi, maybe you can ck your car with a diagnostic tool and get the code, then your question may be solved. Anyway, good luck.

1997 chey lumina runs fine until motor warm-up then shut off and won't start until motor cool off

Try getting your transmission solenoid replaced. After I got mine replaced it ran fine after that. That's the exact same thing my Lumina was doing.

Hi Rachel, Have you had the cat checked to find out if its blocked? The symptoms you describe are of a build up of pressure in the exhaust system which inhibit the intake and kill engine. Regards John

99 Ford Escort ZX2 2.0L Car will start but won't stay running unless you keep giving it gas

I had the same problem. My car sat for a few days and when i went to start it i heard an extremely loud pop (kind of like a backfire). After that it would start and sound fine, but die 2 seconds later. Thank god my bf is a mechanic he knew instantly that the pcv valve hose that connects to the intake manifold unplugged itself. He plugged it back in and it runs fine now. I didnt however get a check engine light, but i only tried to start it twice before he fixed it because i was scared it jumped time.

sounds like a problem with the ignition barrel.the wiring is loose or the connectors are loose or the barrel is faulty, unless thse are all run from the onboard computer.
