Question about Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

Open Question

Can't view files from my camera on my computer.

I took a whole bunch of pictures and several videos on my Samsung S630 camera with a 512 MB memory card in it.

Using the camera, I can easily review the pictures and play the movies back on the camera veiw screen.

When I try to copy the files onto the computer, they copy over, but I can not view any picture and the videos do not play.

I have used this camera for a while, and have not had this problem before. I used it this morning and copied the files over using a 6 in one USB card reader and all the files were fine and readable. I added more to it this afternoon (I did change batteries in-between) and none of the pictures or videos I took this afternoon are viewable on the computer. All can still be viewed in the camera.

However, all the files shot earlier in the day were still fine.

I can not even view the pictures of videos directly from the memory card while ion the reader.

If they play fine on the camera, the files MUST be OK.

There is nothing wrong with the card reader or computer as I am able to transfer the files from earlier today with no problem and view them on the computer.

1) Using new memory card. first connecting memory card to computer and format. and insert memory card to camera. making single shot. then connecting computer you see picture.
Memory card formating in camera may be not working computer or other device.

My camera says no file exists what does that mean

You'll hate me for saying this.

In camera-speak, a file is either a picture or a video.
If "my camera says no file exists" that's exactly what it means.
It means there are no pictures nor videos the camera can display/playback.

Is that a problem?
It is a problem if you took a bunch of pictures and videos, and when you try to see them you get that message.

Otherwise, it means the memory or memory card is empty. No problem.

I have several pictures on my camera I took a couple of days ago that show up in the view but will not upload to my computer. I deleted some pictures and video files to free up space but it did not help....

Transfer all of your picture to your PC, format your memory card to make it new again with full space of memory.
Or just buy a new memory card with larger capacity to get many pictures saved in it.

Hope this help and RATE please.

After removing the memory sd from the cam it can't be viewed on the computer. Files only appears as shortcut

When you plug your memory card in to your computer, do you see a new drive icon appear in your My Computer window? ...or, does a wizard pop up asking you if you want to copy files to your computer?

When you say that the files appear as shortcuts, do you mean that when you go in to the DCIM folder on your memory card where your pictures should be, you see a whole bunch of shortcuts with names similar to what your pictures file names usually are, or do you mean that the icon that you normally use to open the memory card is a shortcut?

If you right-click on one of the shortcuts, and click properties, where does the shortcut point to?

Losing photos

They are probably still there. Get yourself a card reader and use it to download your pics. f1eb652.jpg

Trouble viewing pictures transfered to the memory card

The process only works one way...you can download pictures taken on your camera to your computer but you cannot download pictures from your computer to the card and play them back on your camera.

My HTC P4350 is running low on free storage space

The system have used nearly the maximum internal memory available: Storage: Total 33.45 MB; In Use: 32.80 MB; Free: 0.66 MB Program.

If you already deleted or moved to memory card your files, that means that the space is taken by installed application/games, or by files left over by previously installed applications.

Save all your files on computer and do a complete reset of the HTC, restoring system to factory settings.

'File error' message on samsung L200 camera when viewing a photo

Possible solution:

I had/have the same problem using L200 and SDHC memory card, called Samsung. Can't view certain pictures on camera or computer, camera freezes when viewing those certain pictures, green light flashing.

Samsung support told me that I needed to copy my (good) pictures to a computer first because a memory format will erase everything. Then format (menu->settings->format->yes) my memory card. Tried this just now and took some new pictures, so far so good.

Try photo recovery software to rescue the lost photos, here are some you may rely on.
Photo Recovery Software (for Windows)
Mac Photo Recovery Software (for Mac OS X)

Be careful: Before your pictures are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the memory card in case the original files(your pictures) are overwritten.

File error

I have seen this problem with generic SD memory cards so it could be a faulty memory stick.  Try to get a replacement.  If you want to try to recover the pictures you have taken, I suggest Zero Assumption Recovery (Google for it). Check to see if it is compatible with your camera before downloading.
