Question about Mitsubishi WS-65315 65" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Vertical Alignment I disassembled the TV into 2 pieces so I could move it upstairs. Now it appears that the picture has shifted down by an inch - blank 1 inch at the top, and hidden 1 inch at the bottom. Any help?

here is a link to the service manual, the circuit adjust begins on page 22 or 23, read carefully before you begin http://www.scribd.com/doc/73431270/V18-S... and note all adjustments are done with the Mitsubishi remote

The service manual was great - thanks for that. However, the problem did not get fixed. I later noticed that only one TV channel is misaligned, others are OK. So maybe the problem is not with the TV.

I would take a good look to make sure it got back together correctly, set does have a hidden adjustment menu once entered the Mitsubishi remote can adjust a lot of things including centering etc, want to be careful in that menu,,,confirm the model and I will give you the four digit enter code for the set.

I have the same issue. Took TV apart to move it and now that it is in place the picture is about half an inch above the bottom of the screen and the right side is also shifted to the left a little. I have model WS-65611. Could you tell me what the settings should be once I access the circuit adjustment menu?

CHECK C2C52 10 UFD @ 50 V OFF THE BASE OF Q2C51 ON THE SIGNAL PCB. 2. CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.

SOURCE: picture is not exactly lined up

That's in your vertical cirsuit and most likely caps that are failing.. You might notice that it gets a bit better or worse after it's been on awhile. Clearly worth the service to have a tech ESR test the caps in the vertical circuit and replace any that are questionable. Always replace C2p05 100 mfd 16 V on this set, in fact most all 100mf caps are usually found stressed.
Good Luck!

You have bad capacitors in the vertical deflection. And you will have to resolder the vertical IC as well. Replace the caps in the area of the vertical IC. Find a TV tech or hobbiest to do this!

Need to dismatle to move and can't

There are a lot of different treadmills and stairways that require specific solutions, but there are some general solutions.

You say you can't disassemble it, so try forearm forklifts, they can make a 2 person lift very manageable. Also if you have a large piece of cardboard (and once again, 2 strong people) the cardboard can be used to both provide a surface that will slide up the stairs and distribute the weight over a larger area, so you can actually put it on it's side without causing damage.

I've used this technique and it works with a little caution and muscle.

There are probably two capacitors that are bad in the vertical circuit. Not too hard to replace if you have any experience at all. Find the vertical output IC ( usually IC451 or similar ) and simply change the closest electrolytic capacitors. A professional can do this easily. Could cost up to $150.

Toshiba TV picture has shifted high

if it cannot be adjusted then there is a problem in tv. your problem is in vertical output circuit Can this be corrected easily ? yes or do I need to start looking for a new TV? I love this one and would like to keep it a while longer. not to look for new tv.you will keep it for longer that has a picture that recently shifted upward and now cuts off about 1 inch of the top of the picture. Otherwise it functions properly. your problem is in vertical output circuit please check 1loose contact in vertical output section 2 capacitor defective in v/output. it is a common problem. it is a not a major problem. if you are not tech person get it done by skilled tech. hope this will help.
