According to the Google support website this error usually accuers when you have no internet connection.
If your internet connection is not the problem, it’s either your firewall or proxy server. Make sure that your firewall is settings Allow Google Talk.

SOURCE: Gtalk Error 1

that's a problem with software...

try downloading google talk again and install it... even then if you are getting the same problem... its a problem in the Operating system... some file must have corrupted... so re-install OS and install gtalk...

or simple way.. juz login to your gmail id... u have an internal gtalk available... in inbox itself.. hahaha..

I cannot get the email settings to work I keep getting error message "Unaleble to send text message please verify email address" but the email address was correct!

Hello. Check the settings for your Outgoing Server. This includes the Port Number. Try Port 587 for SMTP.

Check the box that reads My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication. Choose Use same settings as my incoming server.

I get sending error 0x800ccc80 when trying to send messages...But all messages are send once or twice a day at random times...otherwise they sit in the outbox

Outlook 2007 is stricter than 2003 about SMTP authentication. It could be the case that 2003 tried automatically to connect without authentication when authentication failed, while 2007 throws an error.

Please verify the settings for authentication in your account, and uncheck the box “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", on the "Outgoing Server" tab.

Server authentication problem

I had this problem some time ago and could never figure out if it was a bug in gtalk or the server was simply overloaded.
My work-around was to use pidgin instead of login in directly to gtalk.

Try it out and see if that solves your problem.
  1. Download pidgin here.
  2. After you downloaded and installed it, visit this thread about how to use Google Talk with pidgin.
Hope it helps and if it did, let me know! If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
