Question about Breadmakers
Hi! Haven't used machine for a while. Trying to make whole wheat bread. I turned the machine on after adding the ingredients. It just keeps kneading, except the ball of dough just keeps going around & around on top of the blade--for about 20 minutes.
At 1st, I stopped the machine, gently pushed the 2 balls that formed together slightly so the top ball would get mixed instead of just going around on top of the other one. !st mistake?
Then, it just went around & around on top of the blade as one big ball. I was afraid the motor was going to burn out, as it hesitated a bit when going around. I finally just turned it off to see if it would rise on its own. I don't think it's doing anything & I'm afraid to turn it back on.
My husband figured it out when the same thing happened to me. The basket wasn't pushed down all the way.

That is a difficult problem. One thing you might try to get a better rise in your machine is to cut the salt in your recipe by one half. It's healthier that way too. Please let me know the result.
