Question about Panasonic SDR-H40 HDD Camcorder
I just bought the SDR-H40 and installed the VideoCam Suite. When you import recorded videos to a PC, it stores all video taken on the same calendar day in one giant .mpg file. The VideoCam software still recognizes each individual scene, but outside of that software you can't separate the individual scenes. For example, in order to post shorter clips to a website, how can you isolate just one scene or part of a scene and save that portion of the video as a separate .mpg file?
Instead of using the camera suite... download your video from your camcorder directly to your PC in a folder (video's). there you will see each individual file (scene) that you took that day instead of one large scene. Then you can download/edit whatever scene you want into movie maker or just copy a sene right to a dvd

I got NERO DVD burn software and am now able to see the camera hard drive and recognize my videos. I have Windows XP but as long as you get the right NERO software your troubles will probably be forgotten. After learning of doing it like this I'm really glad the Panasonic software didn't work because I'm sure I have a much better handle on how I want my videos burned to DVD. I can seperate the scenes, cut things out and do most anything I want thru the new software. Panasonic software was fairly useless.
